To sum up, using the manifest configuration, you can scale any software on your PC or on remote desktop computer if its interface is very small or distorted. This usually happens when you use programs that are not compatible with hi-res monitors. If you're running programs on a remote server and you don't have admin rights to make any changes to the Windows Registry, then you have to locally scale the whole Remote Desktop Client by making a configuration manifest file for your remote desktop client.
So what you need to do:
1. Create a new value in the Windows Registry.
2. Download the manifest file.
3. Rename the manifest file (simply add the name of an executable file that runs your program).
4. Move the manifest file to the folder with the installed software that has executable file. The main rule is that the executable file and manifest file should be always in the same folder.
5. Run your software.
is there a way to share 4K screen? I have a TOP GAMING PC in one room and want to play games it on 4K ultra HD TV in another over wifi (not care about lag as it is not shooter).... samsung easy share/ remote desktop squeeezes the picture quality :( my internet is 1Gigabit, WIIF 6 router 2.4 gigabit and tv has wifi 5 450 megabit speed

Thank you for this solution, I just want to mention that you also can change the resolution of the remote desktop from the the advanced settings of the remote desktop window like the following:
1. Open the Remote Desktop Connection window.
2. Click on "Show Options"
3. Click on Display tap
4. From the Display configuration section move the slider to the right to use the full screen resolution( this configuration will use your screen resolution )
5. Connect to the Remote Desktop
Have you watched the video and understood the issue? It's not about changing the resolution of the remote desktop. Some software that people still use is not optimized for high-resolution screens, causing their interfaces to appear extremely small on 4K and higher-resolution displays. That's why we use manifest files for those specific apps to make their interfaces appear larger during remote desktop sessions.
Really should have explained what the manifest actually changes and what the other options are and do. It looks like the only change is changing dpiAware to false, but there are other options. At least mentioning how the Per monitor option works would have been helpful, as especially on laptops most people have 2 screens with different resolutions.
Also, the newer option dpiAwareness should have been mentioned as well, which has even more options, such as permonitorV2.
Thank you for the comment! This video is for regular folks (accounts, users of some old or specific software etc). I tried to make this video as simple as possible. And for those who wants to customize the manifest or learn how it works I mentioned the website. It works as is in most cases.
This fix worked very well on my built in 3K monitor but I seem to be having an issue with the FHD external monitor. The sizing in the laptop is good but everything is too big in the second monitor. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Will this work when remote connecting with other remote connect softwares like connectwise client? Can we just do the same thing putting the manifest file in there? Also, it seems like the issue here is old software running a lower resolution. If the issue is the remote computer doesn't have a monitor at all, can it also fix that problem? Thanks!
You can use the manifest to modify screen settings for any software. All you need to do is properly rename the manifest file and put it into the folder with the executable file of that software. It doesn't matter whether the remote computer has a monitor or not. The problem lies in some software that simply doesn't work correctly with a high-resolution screens and is not perfectly optimized for modern operating systems to properly scale the interface.
