How demeaning for a hound of hell. First, to be reduced to 'dog' - as simple and non-descript as names come. And Second, to be an anagram of god? Woof, indeed.

The word "Adam" means Man in Hebrew. So, he's a man named Man, with a dog named Dog.
Glad that we can all agree that Good Omens is amazing, regardless of religion.

Born and raised Roman Catholic (Irish as well); went to Catholic school for a few years- I LOVED this series. I thought it was hysterical. Great casting. Great soundtrack. Great comedic timing.

Same thing here. 9 years of Roman Catholic institution, masses and confession, and 1 year boarding in a Roman Catholic convent. Not even mainstream Roman Catholics, but Fraternité Saint-Pie X (Mgr Lefebvre) who were excommunicated from 1975 to 2009. Anti abortion, anti contraception, anti homosexuality... and misogynes!
Yikes. Pretty normal, run-of-the-mill Franciscan here. Hard to describe him except to say he was pro-poverty.

Maybe it's because I have this chronic affliction that, among other things, means that I pay an insane amount of attention to detail, but I had my AHA moment right in the opening where the narrator said: _"This proves [...] that God does not play dice with the Universe. I play an ineffable game of my own devising. For everyone else, it's like playing Poker in a pitch-dark room for Infinite stakes with a dealer who won't tell you the rules and who smiles all the time."_

Yeah, this is super low quality. The audio is terrible, and I really don't see much reaction at all, just kind of vacant stares at the screen.
Notice how Crowley keeps himself on the side towards traffic, and after they cross the street, switches the side he is on, maintaining his position as the one on the traffic side, even though they only have a few steps before entering the bookshop (and he gets called "foul fiend" by Aziraphale for his trouble, even if it is followed up with an "After you").
I'll admit it, your title got me. I'm watching all of these. :D

@@CrocodilePile But not Dosed. That's an overdose. Mine was to help with a severe brain injury. It worked pretty flawlessly, but it had a terrible side effect, it destroyed the liver of the people who took it for years on end. Several veterans died before they got all of us off of it. I miss the way it made my brain work, but I got to keep the hardwired optimism. It's not a terrible thing. But it has its drawbacks. I had a pet die, and I really couldn't grieve. I had a child I helped raise die from suicide, and I couldn't grieve. It's actually sort of messed up. So there's the big drawback.

Thank you guys!! I was having a miserable time of it today and was about to just swear off social media and everything for a while cause of so much negativity and other crap. But then I got a RUclips recommendation for this video and from the get go I was enjoying myself so much I've kind of come out of my dark place for a while. I'm honestly not sure anymore how I feel about religion (I'm 46 and raised catholic) but I do believe that everything happens for a reason and that somehow I was meant to find this. So again thank you for making me annoy my neighbors with extremely loud laughing. And for being honest as hell! also maybe Shecky should use thumb tacks instead of tape... I'm sure you're all tired of hearing about the posters by now so off I go to keep watching

This appropriate, considering Good Omens was kinda written by a Catholic and a Jew. Well, an atheist raised CoE and an agnostic raised Jewish and Scientologist. Close enough?

I remember at church, sometime in the early 70's, we had a church scholar do part of service one sunday. He taught us that the stories in revelations were just hidden words of support for the early christians. They were not prophetical at all. The bad characters represented leaders of the time who were putting down Christian teachings and the stories we're ment to give the people hope for the future....they were never ment to be seen as predictions of what would happen in the 'end days'
Similiar story, I was taught they were political metaphors predicting the fall of the Roman Empire.
just found this :) loving it so far. I'm from the uk and was born into a non religious family, only been to church because of school. My dads an atheist while my mums an agnostic. I'm quite interested in hearing about what life is like for people who were born into a religious family.
I was raised Catholic and now atheist but the Catholic guilt is hard to shift. I'm raising my kid without the burden of religion and just trying to get him to be a good human because it's the right thing to do.

I also was raised Catholic and attended seminary for graduate school, including Church and biblical history. The Book of Revelation has always been included in Catholic Bibles, and is used in the Roman Catholic lectionary (liturgical Bible readings for each day), doctrines, and catechism. So I'm not sure where or how you got the idea the Church considers it "heretical".

As a reaction video, this felt lacking to me, as you didn't do enough to let the audience into your thoughts. Neither would I in your place, which is why I admire the skill of the great RUclips reactors who are able to do that in real time. Fun fact, the automated subtitles (which were a mess) turned Hound of Hell into Hug of Help.
I noticed that at the start you differentiated between catholics and christians. But catholicism is a denomination of christianity, isn't it?
All Catholics are Christian, by definition. But all Christians are not Catholic. Also by definition.
Catholicism is the largest denomination of Christianity, so it always weirds me out when the word "Christians" is used to mean Protestants (and often Evangelicals, which is an even smaller group). And Revelations is part of the Catholic Bible, even if they don't have the hardon for it that Evangelicals do.

2:00 As a european citizen i find it pretty fucking weird that you separate between Catholics and Christians. I mean from a european Perspective Catholics, Protestant/Evangelical and Orthodox is all just flavours of Christianity. How do people get the idea Catholics are not Christians?
It's the other way around, all Christians are NOT Catholic while all Catholics ARE Christians. BIG differences between Catholic/Protestant/Evangelical/Orthodox/etc, though, that's why they all have different buildings.
