    Another great video 👋👋❤️ I have noticed having explored the preloved market a HUGE difference in quality in the leathers used by the big fashion houses . With many bigger fashion brands there seems to be a certain type of leather that looked great when new , but after a couple of years of use they quickly wear , usually on the corners , and also the gold hardwear also quickly tarnishes . Brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Miu Mui were obviously producing large quantities of stock at one point , and it clearly shows !! Although I have also noticed other individual pieces from those SAME brands can better , I have a beautiful Westward zip wallet which still looks new , but the quality of the leather and hardware is noticeably finer ! So I am assuming they must have been outsourcing at the time . A friend of mine also has a thirty year old Muse bag by YSL , which still looks wonderful ! In the end it's all about how well made that particular item was at the time . Having said that I do believe there are definitely companies that invest more in quality rather than trend . I have a couple of old bags from lesser known brands which still look like new , there is still no wear on the corners , the leather and hardwear have held up like dream , despite being dragged around town , on county trips and EVEN down the beach 😂! I think it's time to stop treating bags as the latest trophies to sit gathering dust on our shelves , and to actually get them OUT THERE to earn their keep !! Somewhere along the way we all got caught up too much with the hunt and the acquisition , and forgot that these very beautiful and expensive items are still JUST BAGS ,...and they need to used AND ENJOYED ,...otherwise , what REALLY is the point ?! 💕💋

    I don't have a problem with my sac de jour, on the areas you mentioned. Its actually holding up very well 😅 3 years so far, I use it almost everyday so probably around a thousand days now haha. This is the only bag i like from Saint Laurent

      Hey! Seeing the comment now 👀
      I bought a lovely bag for €20 that in my opinion is far way more interesting than the YSL sac du jour. And it closes! 😁

    Hi Anesu, thanks again for a great and informative video.I love how much I have learned from you! So.... I went immediately to check my two sac de jour ( small in brown smooth leather and baby in burgundy printed croc) which I purchased several years ago , both preloved, as I did not think they they were worth the retail price and I still confirm this. I have to say that I did not observe the same issue described although I played around with them after watching the video. I see the potential for splitting with the smooth leather once you unbuckle the small strap and with pressure and bending the top, one could definitely cause enough pressure to eventually crack and separate the edge coating. The printed croc however is quite rigid and the two units are coming together quite nicely. The edge coat is actually quite uniform, better in the croc than the smooth leather. It may be possible that there is variability with leathers, years of production, etc. Thanks again!

      @SoAnesu  Месяц назад +2

      Ouch “they weren’t worth the retail price!”
      You hit the nail on the head variability with leathers and years of production. Couldn’t agree more. If I was to the buy a Saint Laurent bag with the exception of the natural calfskin I would go down the pre-love market.

    I just returned from the Ferragamo flagship in Florence and am still a dedicated fan. Their quality is impeccable while being at a great price point. I picked up the new Hug bag in olive and it is exquisite.

      Don't get me started on olive! Without realising it I subconsciously have been buying a lot of things in olive green. I think it's my favourite colour during this chapter of my life. Enjoy your bag!

    Thanks so much for sharing. I actually have the Sac du Jour in the baby size and have had no issues with it. However, the particular one I have is rather flexible pebbled leather which in all fairness YSL does pretty well. Closest to this style would likely be the Kelly or Birken.

    I love the topic of this video, definitely learned some things. It almost could be a short series - viewers send in pictures of the wear/tear on their aspirational luxury bags and you tell us what happened 🤦🏻‍♀ Despite personally liking the aesthetics of some
    YSL bags, I now see them (and other brands), think, nice style, but can see the forest and not just the trees. It is a huge turn-off to know that the construction and care put into these bags is ... AVERAGE 🫠. Thanks as always for an intelligent video 🙏🏼

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  Месяц назад +1

      Glad you liked it what if i end up with 100s of pictures 🤣 you will help respond to all of them?
      Construction and care ranges from average to good. Some brands do produce ranges that are decent quality. Thank you for watching.

      @abbycatherine8135 Месяц назад

      @@SoAnesu I considered this before I wrote that about the series! I wonder if you would receive that many? You could just pick a few to address, I'm sure the others will understand. Maybe it wouldn't work because the explanation will be the same for all of them 😂 BTW I would actually love to work with you ❤❤❤Correction - average to good. That is probably fair. I have the Celine 16 and Triomphe and they seem pretty well made despite being aspirational. Although I'm not using them daily or even weekly so it will take some years to determine the quality. Have a great day Anesu ✨

    I got to know Bonastre thanks to you. I am in love. The quality and design is spectacular. I own two of their bags and they are perfect for an urban everyday life in style.
    Still, I am feeling weak to buying a Chanel…I am currently deciding between a patent jumbo classic bag or a coco handle with lizard handle in large. Which would you choose? 😅

    Handbags are "fashion accessories" - they are not meant to last and customers are expected to buy new ones. Btw, leather is animal by-product of abundance, and leather products definitely deteriorate over time+wear and tear, regardless of the highest tannery/manufacturing standards. Please don't make a fuzz over handbags. 🫠
