Hi Jim! Is it best just the neatest thing? As it happens he needs to rebuild the boiler. He made it out of a sona tube. Cardboard tubes that they use for cast in concrete. And then he wrapped that in plastic which he painted. The cardboard be in cardboard is falling apart. So he’s debating whether he just wants to build it again the same way after all last about 10 years or try something new
This sets a standard that most of us can never hope to achieve. It also reminds me of a great old cartoon from Model Railroad Magazine that used to strike fear in my wife's heart. Two wives were talking across the backyard fence and one was bragging that her husband's railroad had consumed the house interior but she still had the back yard for her garden. In the background, the husband is driving up with a lowboy loaded with a full-size steam locomotive.
So far they are pretty darn good about it..... However, last year his clock stopped, so when he wanted to know what time it was he would blow the whistle and a neighbor would call and yell " It's 1 in the morning!! Whet the He...." and he would say thank you and go to bed.
Me too. Much smaller I did build a locomotive out of cardboard boxes as a kid. Lasted an hour or so. But dang.. but this is so cool!! The boiler is cardboard covered with plastic sheet and that it now falling apart redo time. Need a better way.
Very inspiring :) I'd honestly love to have one of these locomotives in my backyard ( Fully functional of course). So the whole thing was made out of wood eh?
Just one issue though, I'm only a teenager and don't have that much time on my hands. After seeing this video, I want to have locomotive, but I guess I'll to the drawing board first
Hi, Dale! Great video as always! Gary has some real interesting ideas.. Love the steampunk! That model train is soo cool! A pure work of genius! Thanks!! :D
Any chance you could help me get in touch with Gary Myers? I'd like to learn more about the depot. Been thinking about a backyard office/cabin, and a train depot would be incredibly cool.
There are a few "Estate Railways" or "Private Railways" in britain that are owned by people who run narrow gauge railways on their farms and the like for a hobby.
DALE ANOTHER GOOD VIDEO OF SCREWING AROUND TIME I ENJOYED IT ALOT. WAS KAREN BUSY ON ANOTHER PROJECT AN COULDN'T MAKE IT ,HAVE YOU GOOD DAY TODAY BE SAFE AND CAREFUL PLEASE
Not that I know of. But oddly a bunch of people have built replica locomotives nothing in their yard. I’m putting up another one in a few weeks someone built, unfortunately based on some delusional nightmare they must’ve had! It’s sort of a four4 four wtf!!
He and Jason Sharon (Rapido Trains Inc) would get on like a house on fire. Jason with his 1:1 Via Rail passenger car and Gary with his loco. Would have posted a comment sooner, however I missed this episode.
Every episode of yours I see starts and ends with you driving in your car but i never actually see you at the location...so where are you driving to? haha
+Alexander Younies Good point! Often we shoot the driving later as we have no idea what we need until after we have the rest of the footage. But I'm going to mess with that. Hum.....
First, he needs to rebuild the locomotive! The boilers kind of fell apart. It was made out of cardboard. We’re supposed to be weatherproof cardboard but well after years out there it just fell apart. .
31 👎 as of this posting. Some people would bitch if you cut off their head with a golden axe. That guy did a fun and cool thing in his backyard and 31 people can't even let him have his day. I don't get people.
My folks have been in mental health for decades. It turns out that as long as you aren't a danger to yourself and/or others, it is 100% your right to be as crazy and weird as you want to be!
if you have or you you can build the tender too hold battery's then set locomotive and tender on track again this time not just so wheels turn around in please if possible build a 30ft to 90 ft track section or run it at a them park or fare I would imagine it would take not to much to turn that In too a electric Train .
I wish I had it in my yard my yard is big well it’s a farm I have a railroad miniature I could extend and make that train in the video work, but not right now idk how much money it’s is

What a talented man--a real artist.

Classic!! I remember one where a guy told the government his HO Railroad went broke and they gave him 100 million to rebuild it.
ONE WORD ..AWESOME NICE PERSON VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE THANK YOU DALE . BE SAFE AND CAREFUL PLEASE WHEN YOU ARE SCREWING AROUND . PLEASE 👍
Hi Jim. Thanks
Creativity at its best
Well I like trains that’s how I found you in my recommended
Cool!!! We too.
That’s incredible!!
Wonderful! But we should have heard the whistle!
I keep watching waiting for that moment but it never came.
Coolest 1:1 model ever!
Very cool, on my bucket list.
Get er done!
I wonder how the neighbors feel about when he blasts the whistle? Great model.

Toy Man Television 🙂
I would love this in my backyard just to LARP on.
If he ever gets rid of it we’ll take it.
Epic Scale Screwing Around! 😍 🤩
Love it!!!
Took me 6 years to find this. But, please more screwing around!!!!
Doing that right now! Tell your friends and anyone you want. Heck write your congressman. At least it will confuse them. And that’s a good goal.
WOW! That man has some amazing talent! Very impressive!

Good stuff
Pretty awesome project why not.
I want to do this. I stumbled upon this because I want to do it and was searching for it. Great video.
Amazing “yard art”. Fun project.
That's too cool!
Hello from Kansas 🇺🇸
Thanks again
I love it! Great video!
Thanks for finding cool stuff 😎
No problem 👍
Awesome!!!
Thank you !
Thank you. I want to build one of these. Below my treehouse next to my depot. Now all I need as a yard.... And a tree.
Been working in 1-1 scale for twenty plus years.
I often find my work and photos of me on the net.
Cool!!!!!
Love it!
Walt Disney would be proud 👍
Definitely cool, definitely.
Love the video,he must have worked nonstop for nine months to complete it
Yup. He gets time form time to time to work on FUN stuff.
Giving me ideas for the empty lot in my back yard
That's so fun, I've been trying to think of how to do the very same thing.
Me too. Much smaller I did build a locomotive out of cardboard boxes as a kid. Lasted an hour or so. But dang.. but this is so cool!! The boiler is cardboard covered with plastic sheet and that it now falling apart redo time. Need a better way.
Nice :)
Lovely full scale diorama...super sweet
+LadyMissCoppertone So inspired I started on our own train station. Locomotive? Well I guess not. But.....
Love It !😊
Yay! Thank you!
this guy seems really cool. id liek to meet him and check the train out. if it looks that good made out of plywood. this guy can build alot of stuff.
Very inspiring :) I'd honestly love to have one of these locomotives in my backyard ( Fully functional of course). So the whole thing was made out of wood eh?
Yup. Amazing that a bunch of people we have met do have real working locomotives. But this one is a “model”.
This would really deserve to be called a model train :)
Just one issue though, I'm only a teenager and don't have that much time on my hands. After seeing this video, I want to have locomotive, but I guess I'll to the drawing board first
this is awsome
Gary is FUN!! Did you see the candy windows show?
Toy Man Television no
"Screwing around is pathological"
Hi, Dale! Great video as always! Gary has some real interesting ideas.. Love the steampunk! That model train is soo cool! A pure work of genius! Thanks!! :D
I so want something like this
Dale: How on God’s green earth do you find these folks? Enjoyed very much. Liked his Bobber!
I don’t know I’ve been finding people like this my whole life! It helps to be a little nuts……
Toy Man Television I would say interesting, unique, and eclectic. Patiently waiting for your next episode.
I wanna build one now!
Any chance you could help me get in touch with Gary Myers? I'd like to learn more about the depot. Been thinking about a backyard office/cabin, and a train depot would be incredibly cool.
+Timflan Sure! His web site is www.paradeconcepts.com/Meet-Gary-Myers.html
I want one that can run around myyard 😂
That would be great!
Man I would love to build one of these
Do it! It’s really not that hard
way cool. most eggscllent.
What a great project.
You need to get some land, lay some track, and get that thing moving.
Walthers has a listing of a 1:1 Big Boy in their mail catalogs about 13 to 15 years ago!! Not sure if that would be the same size as this one
Like to see that!! Berhaps a lawn blow up big boy.
Screwing around taken to a fillisofical level
Absolutely amazing right?
One word.....WHISTLE!!!
Yes. Not working right. Neighbors like it broken
The matenence on that thing would get old.
Yup. But it’s a fun project
I was hoping it was a bit more real than that, but it is faithful reproduction with the materials he has.
Sadly and predictably it has sort of fallen apart. But he’s planning to rebuild it perhaps next summer hopefully not out of cardboard this time.
I didn't realize that the materials were that flimsy. Well, he's still a good craftsman regardless and I'd love to see more.
There are a few "Estate Railways" or "Private Railways" in britain that are owned by people who run narrow gauge railways on their farms and the like for a hobby.
Love to see that!!!! Did you see Rob Rossi's railroad here? Going back next spring. He has 4 locos now!!!
Now imagine that but it can actually go around a track and not just standing there.
That would be nice
This is amazing I wanna build one now but knowing me I'd make it ful functioning moving and all what gauge width is it?
Isaiah Mariedth it's 3 foot gauge it's based on Rio Grande 10 wheeler edit city neatly on actual 3 foot gauge track
DALE ANOTHER GOOD VIDEO OF SCREWING AROUND TIME I ENJOYED IT ALOT. WAS KAREN BUSY ON ANOTHER PROJECT AN COULDN'T MAKE IT ,HAVE YOU GOOD DAY TODAY BE SAFE AND CAREFUL PLEASE
Fun. But the locomotive now needs to be rebuilt. But he’s on it.
I wish I could borrow this for Christmas decorations my neighbors would blow stream 😫😫😫
I wish he built a small track layout so he could drive it up and down
Could be cool.
Do you know what the whistle sounds like?
Not really. It wasn’t really working
Well I know what im doing with my life! :)
Is there a Hudson model steamLocomotive like your size in existence ?
Not that I know of. But oddly a bunch of people have built replica locomotives nothing in their yard. I’m putting up another one in a few weeks someone built, unfortunately based on some delusional nightmare they must’ve had! It’s sort of a four4 four wtf!!
His train is more likely a man cave
He and Jason Sharon (Rapido Trains Inc) would get on like a house on fire. Jason with his 1:1 Via Rail passenger car and Gary with his loco.
Would have posted a comment sooner, however I missed this episode.
+Greg McCulloch Cool stuff Gary does. www.paradeconcepts.com/Meet-Gary-Myers.html
I am. I restore 1:1 scale signals and signs. I build large scale signals even though I own no track or train that size.
:)
Every episode of yours I see starts and ends with you driving in your car but i never actually see you at the location...so where are you driving to? haha
+Alexander Younies Good point! Often we shoot the driving later as we have no idea what we need until after we have the rest of the footage. But I'm going to mess with that. Hum.....
Why not he can make a whole railroad in his backyard I’m just saying all you need is to build track. No more Trains stuff takes a lot.
First, he needs to rebuild the locomotive! The boilers kind of fell apart. It was made out of cardboard. We’re supposed to be weatherproof cardboard but well after years out there it just fell apart. .
What locomotive do he used for he's model ?
Sort of made up I guess. DSP&P 63 was a consolidation, this is a ten wheeler. Close to a D and RG T12. Classic Baldwin 4-6-0.
Toy Man Television thanks
31 👎 as of this posting. Some people would bitch if you cut off their head with a golden axe.
That guy did a fun and cool thing in his backyard and 31 people can't even let him have his day.
I don't get people.
Did he have to get permission from some city council or other Government entities?
Not yet LOL
Great gass mileage
Brent Lowery actually it has terrible gas mileage cuz you’re wasting your gas going nowhere at all
But it doesn't actually move
I wanted to hear the whistle
Me too.
Robin Williams look-a-like.

I wish could get in touch with him. I'd love commission something like this from him. Could you help me with this if your still replying to commemtd.
I think o can contact him. Haven’t spoken in a while.. let me try
@@ToyManTelevision Please let me know if you do
I wouldn't call it a disorder. Is he hurting any one including himself? no then it's not a disorder.
My folks have been in mental health for decades. It turns out that as long as you aren't a danger to yourself and/or others, it is 100% your right to be as crazy and weird as you want to be!
If it's 1:1 I think it's not a model anymore, it's a replica.
Hummmm. Yup 👍 but built like a model.
GARY IS A CRAFTSMAN AND I SUFFER FROM SAME FATE AS YOU AND GARY . JUST ASK MY WIFE. JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA
tf is wrong wib red heads?
if you have or you you can build the tender too hold battery's then set locomotive and tender on track again this time not just so wheels turn around in please if possible build a 30ft to 90 ft track section or run it at a them park or fare I would imagine it would take not to much to turn that In too a electric Train .
You read my mind....
Toy Man Television you could understand what he said?
I didn't hear the horn 👺
Dumb question - why don’t you just make one that works?
Rather hard to do.
@@ToyManTelevision Certainly looks like you have the ability to do that! Great job!
:)

Hahaha, a train that goes nowhere.
Yup. Just for fun!
Sweet but none of the s$#t works? You get a B-
When you said screwing that was it, I'm gone. You throw these terms around and never consider the true meaning.
Nice to take life less seriously……
I wish I had it in my yard my yard is big well it’s a farm I have a railroad miniature I could extend and make that train in the video work, but not right now idk how much money it’s is
If a a fun bit of yard art no matter what!
Yup yup you are right
It's just gonna sit there... And rot.
Been there for years. Does need a bit of TLC but he takes care of his stuff. really
