That's a real easy one there, cause people actually like to be able to work on their own gear. Trying to work on a Shimano is so tedious, there's so many little parts and if you don't put it back exactly how it was the reel doesn't function properly anymore, I did this with a stradic one time. Penn's are alot simpler. Also, daiwa and Shimano just don't hold up to really heavy duty fishing until you get up to the twin powers for Shimanos and certates for daiwa. That said, I also don't fish anything lower than a spin fisher for Penn because of the sealing, any reel that's going to be used in salt needs to be sealed. At least these new battles are partially sealed.
@@ericlemmond Bingo. Exactly. I do all my own maintenance on everything I own, and I don’t need something harder to work on. I want reliability and ease of maintenance, and Penn always delivers. I’ve been fishing all my life fresh and salt, and my Penn reels last.
Everyone loves the honesty and energy of Steve Carlson. He loves what he does and believes in his product.. a reel 😊asset for Penn.

Why anybody would buy a penn over a shimano I will never know.
