Love your delivery… calm, measured, articulate. I find it very relaxing to watch you, whilst absorbing lots of useful info at the same time. Your explanations are clarity personified. If you’re not already in education or training… you should be! Earned a sub from me 👍🏻
Thanks! I worked for 13 years in corporate learning and development for a number of different businesses, so that's where I was able to develop my skills in teaching adults.
I have learned something from almost every one of your videos, Tom. It’s obvious you work very hard to produce all the content your channel offers. Everyone has already commented on your delivery and content, but what I appreciate is your obvious intention to teach what you’ve learned. Kudos!
Your presentation got me using Freeform to plan our next trip. 😊 I have discovered that it’s not just exporting a PDF that prevents hot links from working, just grouping like items also prevents the hot links in that group from working 🤔
Is there a way of combining this with a screen recording, so that as the as you annotate you describe what happens and then save it, so that the other users can 'watch' in own time?
Thank you! Is there any word as to when this is coming to imac? Unfortunately it's not showing as compatible with my computer but I've confirmed I'm updated to the latest OS... Really looking forward to building our company newsletter and tracking future offers through this app, once we can all use it on all our devices!
Great explanation I didn’t realise that it was so flexible. One disappointing setting is missing in my opinion, that is to make the grid dots sticky for drawing circuit diagrams, or block diagrams of how you set up your house network for example. Maybe in the next release!
Thank for taking us on a journey through this amazing app. I’m so impressed and inspired by the way you have explained all features and could imagine using this as a trainer with my students. Writing/ commenting images, replying to prompts, creating boards with different contents together, etc. wonderful. I’m in trainer heaven😊
Cool. I didn’t know about the “group” gesture, using one finger then another to create a patch of items to be moved as one item. Checking it out now. Thanks!
I wasn't aware of any clamouring for this application and when I saw it previewed by Apple in the Keynote I thought it just a variation on a theme. Couldn't most of this already be done in Notes, or Pages? Maybe the grouping function is new, I'm not sure? What would you have used to coordinate family holiday notes before this existed? I am concerned this is a tool looking for a use case and will be unceremoniously dumped after a while if it gets no traction leaving the few that invest in it high and dry.
Yes, it seems with this app you are locked in Apple’s “eco” system. Microsoft Notes does the same ( if not much more ) and works on all major platforms.
@@liminalspace1382 Microsoft Word 'works' on many platforms but doesn't format properly when opened in Apple Pages. I haven't tested MS Notes so do not know if this is also a problem. It would be so much simpler for the end user if all software were to be compatible but that's a perfect world not reality.
Man love your content my only regret not finding you sooner , my apple game has improved 10 fold, been wondering what to do with this and what it’s for definitely going to collaborate with group on vacations and trips !
Graet video. On rotation if you press an item with one finger on iphone or ipad with a second one you can easily rotate the item! It perhaps is easier than using an anchor.....
I use FreeForm since the beginning. If you are so kind did you find an option to get notifications when someone makes a change? I tried all the internet maybe I find a solution. A collaborative app should have notifications, right? I think what is missing, or do you know something I don't?
Thanks for your newsletter and videos which are thoughtful, easy-to-understand, and informative. I think Freeform could be much improved with some templates for common uses like trip planning, party planning, and even the soccer/football example in your video. It would also benefit from having the ability to dynamically incorporate an Apple Calendar. I see a lot of potential to the app but in its current state it needs more “time in the oven” to make common collaboration uses easier to use. There are too many required clicks as-is.
Around minute 2 you show how to turn on Freeform on all devices through iCloud. I have quick question about this. If turn off messages or photos on iCloud in my iPad settings, will that turn it off on the other devices? My son occasionally uses the iPad and I don’t want him accidentally deleting pictures or messages. I would like to turn it off on the iPad but I’m afraid it would turn it off everywhere.
It’s a nice app. Maybe I’ll use it to put down some ideas. The problem is that few people have Apple devices, so I rarely can collaborate, not even the simple calendar, so when I hear “collaboration” I get annoyed.
Reminds me of google slides. It sounds so universal but I think many people can’t use it right? Even if you send a link. My apple devices are not able to download those new versions of updates so I can’t get the app. And people who don’t use apple products can’t use the app too right?
Hey! Nice video laying out the features of the Freeform app. Apple have really made good efforts for collaboration recently with file and folder sharing and collaborative editing in pages numbers and keynote as well as notes. Where I live I believe we are one of the world most iPhone users per capita. Almost 90% of office workers use an iPhone and most younger people too. But what about the ones we need to collaborate irate with outside of the Apple ecosystem? 🤔 Apple have lots of useful features that just don’t work outside of Apple products like tags in finder and notes. The only really universal features are contact and calendar sharing and email of course. And now FaceTime links that extend to android and windows users. Is there an import / export function from Freeform to Microsoft whiteboard or OneNote? Or any other way to collaborate with non Apple users?
Really like watching your vids... have learned so many things I didn't know about. You have a real talent in getting the details across in a non tekkie way, easy to follow along... thanks so much.
Good video, you are very articulate, this app is nice and I’m sure it would be useful to the right person, however for me, I’m not that person. I don’t usually collaborate with other people and not all my friends have an iPhone. I usually do all this type of work myself and this app would not get used to its full potential.
I cannot share The created and saved exemple on my iphone it says the document is not synchronised , so I am not able to see it on my ioa ipad either. Iphone and ipad have the same settings. Any idea what I might be doing wrong here?
This was an amazing video! Thank you! I am hoping to use it for a digital bullet journal. It has everything I need for a simple start. Thank you thank! #digitalbulletjournal
Collaboration tools tend to be a waste of time in the real world where people run legacy devices that don’t run the latest IOS, or where they aren't even Apple users.
Hi Joe. I’ve had feedback in the past that a number of my viewers who have accessibility issues value a face that helps them with lip reading on-screen all the time, alongside captions, which is why it’s there. If my face on screen bothers you so much, I’d really rather you find another channel to watch.
And you better only have friends & family who all have the latest Apple gear. Because otherwise it won't work. Maybe you simply cancel friendship & kinship to anyone who doesn't? Happy collaborating!

It’s incredible how you are so great at explaining. I love getting the most out of my phone /iOS ecosystem, thanks for your help
I can see people using this as an easier-to-use alternative to Affinity Designer for vector artwork.
Can you make a tutorial of creating mind maps using this app?
Excellent tutorial. Best introduction to FreeForm I’ve seen. Many thanks!

reminds me of the Miro app. Also, how much did it hurt to say "vacation"? lol thanks for the video. very valuable.
If I’m creating a journal, can I add pages to the board? Thank you, excellent tutorial.

Can we add an index and page numbers. Also will there be templates? I have a wedding to help plan.
Super clear and now I’m thinking of ideas for use!
These tips gives my iPad a new life. I am a happy subscriber now!

Very good introduction to Freeform. Interesting that you demonstrate this on an iPhone. Using a Mac or iPad seems to make much more sense.
I almost want to come out of retirement so I can used this collaboration app. Another great tutorial.
Great video. Not sure when I will start using, but it is good to know it's there if I ever need it. Thanks🙂
Wow this guys amazing. His videos are defo worth a sub. 👍🏽🙌🏽

Great video. Looks like you can draw on a Mac with the touchpad but not as easily. Do you have an example of drawing on the mac?
I don't, but as you say, I can imagine it's nowhere near as easy as it is on the iPhone or iPad (Mac touchpads are great, but not ideal for drawing)

Can definitely see me using this app with fellow students at Uni 👌🏻
Thanks for the info. Brilliant
It's nice and very informative, thanks for your efforts
Imma use this for vision boards
Great video, well done.
Thinking of using this to collaborate within our Apple user group.
This is an awesome feature.
Really like watching your vids... have learned so many things I didn't know about. You have a real talent in getting the details across in a non tekkie way, easy to follow along... thanks so much.
Thank you so much for this tutorial ! Great video
Seems that if you group the items then any links are no longer available unless you unlink
Isn’t there a redo button?
Good video, you are very articulate, this app is nice and I’m sure it would be useful to the right person, however for me, I’m not that person. Awesome, thanks teacher ❤❤❤
I wished it could replace those as Xmind or MindNode if not Flow from Moleskin altogether.

Awesome video! Just stumbled onto your channel. Great content!
Excellent!
Great app.
Terrifically elucidating tips.
You should become a voice actor for reading instructions or something like that
Ha, thanks! I had my own voice over business for a few years. Enjoyed the work, but it's a tough business to make good money in.
Loved your presentation skills, well done mate!
Another fantastic video. More of these videos PLEASE
This was an amazing video! Thank you! I am hoping to use it for a digital bullet journal. It has everything I need for a simple start.
Thank you thank!
#digitalbulletjournal
Great content as always… many thanks
Thanks
I love this but I don’t know anyone else that does to collaborate. I think I need to make a vision board for mor friends
Absolutely brilliant video and content! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks, great overview!
Very Good Tutorial. Thank you.
Actually it existed long ago. I discovered it in Pages but this “ new” app just made it more accessible.
Makes me wish I had someone to use this with lol
Ha! S note early days 🤔
I still can't see how this app is of any use to me.
Why is it the best new app. I just removed it because I never used it and it just took up space.
And will the pencil capability EVENTUALLY lead to the Apple Pencil working on the iPhone? 😉
I very much doubt it, but who knows?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
We would call that thing you call a pitch a soccer FIELD. A pitch is something that happens in baseball.
This is just an itinerary with more steps
So basically Apple created MS OneNote on ios.
More like FigJam
Collaboration tools tend to be a waste of time in the real world where people run legacy devices that don’t run the latest IOS, or where they aren't even Apple users.
All too complicated and pointless for me, I don’t think I will be using it at all, but thanks for the explanation,
Nice tutorial. But the persistent face in the lower right corner kept me from giving it a thumbs-up.

Another "collaboration" tool from Apple that only works on Apple devices, limiting the people I can collaborate with immensely.
My girlfriend and I use Freeform to plan things together we love it
I have tried signing for Proper Weekly three times without success; where am I going wrong 😂
I only use iphone
Looks like Apple have made a near copy of OmniGraffle from OmniGroup and made it possible to work on it in collaboration with others.
Omg my cheeks hurt from how happy I am for you both!! 🫶🏼
thanks for the video, great teacher
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Really informative. Thanks 👍🏻
