@@fullthrottle2656 I know its still a belt but it is steel, the regular clutches are garbage and if and when they explode its 2-3 k to replace, that is not including the transaxle, so you looking at 5-7000 for the regular hunk of garbage, nothing wrong with new technology, after driving the new maverick r i think they should all go to dct with how smooth it is. Much less complex than this gearbox as well.
I got one it’s worth the money all year round I’ve got a v plow set up coming from western and it’s gonna be my main snow removal unit along with my compact tractors
All the negative comments…I say good for you and I hope it gives you years of great use. I’m not a Polaris fan boy at all but I got a really good deal on a ‘21 xp 1000 northstar premium after the owner passed. Nice riding machine but for me it was a little too loud…I kept it for a little over a year and sold it. I’ll definitely be looking at this new model by the end of the year, the new Kawasaki ridge or can am defender limited. For all these people saying just buy a small truck, well you honestly have no clue if you think that is comparable to a SxS.
It's a luxury item that's all, a small truck like my Colorado does so much more so plz stop. I love this UTV but these are trendy and just a luxury item. Congrats to him . Obviously money is not a object to him. 50k for that is crazy... No one is ever gonna convince me that UTV is a necessity... To each his own ... Enjoy it life's to short....
Haha! Thanks, Retired, was in the car biz. Polaris dealer has installed the street legal kit and plow and we are waiting for the plow controller to come off BO so i can pick up the XD1500.
I was just looking at a new Nissan Frontier Pro-4x, it was basically $50k...im sure there are things the Polaris does better than the Frontier, but I'm having a hard time thinking of them at the moment.
You can get a 4x4 Kei truck from Japan for 1/5 the price and 100% the utility. Comes with heater, diff lock and some have dumping beds too. You can put them on tracks and hook up a plow too.
I agree. My initial thought with these and the Xpedition was that Polaris was inching into that market of consumer. But it does make it hard to justify the huge price tag of these. But the great thing for western marketing teams is its a FANTASTIC deal when compared to a 100k truck!! With passenger vehicle price tags reaching 6 figures, these high end side by sides are cheap. As the gentleman in the video said, he uses this daily. So for those people it would be worth it I suppose. Not to me personally though
The dealer let you take it home for a test ride. Where's your dealer. My dealer don't let me test nothing. Well that's a lie he did once but then he said never again.
buy a Kia, or buy a Mercedes G-Wagon or anything in between. There is something at every price point for everyone. If this is too expensive, why hate on it? It's not too expensive for the fellas who will buy it. We aren't supposed to be all the same.
passionatet video...meeeens toy again, tooo nice for not wantet to have, i understand this well !! for this price she should go 20mph hr faster...ore an explorer-sport vetsion with a turbo ....then she would be DESIREABLE even for motorheads
It is totally insane that utvs have gotten over 50,000 dollars!!!! Why would anyone pay that much for this over just buying a real pickup!!! Then in three to five years it’s beat to crap and worth 5 grand….
This work this way, youtubers with a lot of subs buy that expensive UTV or ford raptor whatever then when they do a review video people will watch like and sub. That profit goes to the product they got. So this guy prob will get that UTV paid buy viewers and subs
Not $55,000 nice. Given Polaris track record with thier products there will be Recalls. Couple years down the road it will be worth less than ½ that. If you blow that belt that transmission is fucked and gonna be expensive and is not an on trail fix so keep a tow strap.
Polaris isn't perfect by any means, but neither is any other UTV. Their engines and transmissions have always been really good. I don't see the transmission being the weak link. Seems like there is more electrical issues now.
@mossman381 luv your vids dude. These kinds of transmissions have been weak links in cars for years. If that belt comes apart it's just like having to tear a transmission out of a car to repair $$$thousands$$$. Polaris quality control is horrible. I have an XP 1000 Northstar Ultimate too. You want truck like features then buy a mid sized truck. That thing won't do anymore than my XP1000 will at ½ the price.
@@fullthrottle2656 Thanks, from what I have heard most of Honda's cars have this style transmission. I think most problems happen with high mileage and poor maintenance. I think it will work great for a UTV. I wish I would have waited and got a 1500. I wouldn't have gotten a top-of-the-line model, but I would have paid a little more than I did for my 1000XP. My 1000 has more problems than all my 900 Rangers combined. Actually disappointed with my 1000. They have had years to get everything worked out.
@@markvolesky5239 I am not sure where my Ranger was built. I guess I never looked. It might be a rush after Covid to get things going again without having enough people.
Just imagine if polaris made an actual truck, it would be $150000
Congratulations, looks like a nice ride. Can't wait to see some off-road videos and hear your feedback.
Thank you.
Wow great review, beautiful machine and love how quiet it is, as well as the new transmission and no belt!!
Still belt driven, just by a steel belt. If that breaks it's like replacing a car transmission. Wouldn't want that bill.

Well we have officially crossed into real truck cost level. I knew this day would come.
Awesome. My camo northstar crew ultimate will be here in February
Yup - I think I’m going to pick one up this summer. Thanks bro

Sir, you may have just talked me out of an XP that I was close to buying. Great vid. Thank you very much
That's wicked!! Seems like it wouldn't depreciate as rapidly as a truck, plus new trucks don't have dump beds.
Yea but who knows how long this thing is gonna last
Excellent video!
Thank You!~
Oh what finally a riding review on this machine?!?!?!!

New subscriber here. Like your videos! Just wondering what the heck you do for a living? Beautiful scenery...what part of Montana? Cheers! Jason
And the 6x6 that polaris made is really mighty dam awesome as well ,it really needs to be road legal
❤ precioso
How long or how much mileage can you expect to get with one of these?
Was researching on buying a Polaris northstar, now I want the 1500……. Great channel……… What do you do for a living own the local KTM dealership?
Haha! Thanks, Retired, was in the car biz. Polaris dealer has installed the street legal kit and plow and we are waiting for the plow controller to come off BO so i can pick up the XD1500.
The only issue I see with the machine is, their warranty is ridiculous. 50K, 6 month warranty, then your on your own.
I was just looking at a new Nissan Frontier Pro-4x, it was basically $50k...im sure there are things the Polaris does better than the Frontier, but I'm having a hard time thinking of them at the moment.
Wonder why no Sun visors yet?

That Japanese truck will not handle like that Polaris
Tow/haul is actually low range now. Hence just drive not high and low range.
Ya, it feels like a low range.
I wonder if they will do a police/fire version if it so much better then the one they make now?

2023 Northstar Ultimate XP1000 standard cab for sale.
My new XD1500 came in.
He just said, his cost him $52,000 ,hay ,it's only money
What do use it every day on your property for??
Going to town 8 ish miles, snow plowing, tree work, burn piles, etc.
Have you ride any trails? Was wondering how the ride is.
@@saralige5959 Actually, have not picked it up from the dealer yet. Still waiting for the snow plow controller
In 2012 I bought a new Dodge ram Laramie for 49800.00 and it was a mega cab
Yup! I just bought a 2023 3500 Laramie mega cab and it was $86k. If it had the cummins it would have been $96k. Inflation is a bitch.
Let me correct my comment the 6x6, Sparks Motors in Utah was commissioned by polaris to make build a 6x6 ,it really needs to be road legal
52K!! LMAO!!! Must be nice to blow 52k on a toy!
What do you do for work?
Retired a couple years ago, was in the car biz.
Tow/Haul is low on the new XD1500
If it was about 10k cheaper I’d be interested

should be picking it up this week.
Plow, doesn’t look like you plow anyway.
We don't have anything to plow! C'mon snow.
Why not a Jeep gladiator for less money?
If I had 50-100 acres of land to manage I could see the use for that size utv..

Is it expensive? Lol
only 52 grand? hell give 2 of these
Its darn expensive, no doubt.
Is it 100% street legal? Can you drive it down the highway...
If not i would never buy it!
yes
in Montana.
55k? Just buy a used 1st Gen Tacoma for a fraction.

Thinking do they have to much money or owe that
To the bank.
More money than brains.. lol
Those guys thinks youtube going to pay for it depents of the views and subs
