  • Hello everyone! Today, I’ve come to Ruian Street, the ‘Breakfast Street’ in Wuchang District, Wuhan, China. The love Wuhan locals have for breakfast is probably unmatched anywhere else in the country. Rain or shine, nothing can dampen their enthusiasm for enjoying breakfast. This short street, which you can walk through in just 5 minutes, is home to nearly 30 stalls offering dozens of different breakfast options, and a diverse array of Wuhan residents.
Here, the shop fronts usually double as the kitchen, with stoves set up right on the street, and the owners juggling both cooking and serving customers. The sidewalks turn into dining areas, with plastic stools becoming makeshift tables. Despite the somewhat messy and greasy environment, it doesn’t affect anyone’s appetite. People either squat or stand while savoring the delicious food.
