I'll save you some time. continental extremecontact dws: precise that can handle all limits well. track and road tire michilin pilot sport a/s 3: harsh ride but race car. best grip. sux in snow though goodyear eagle f1: direct handling, moderately harsh ride, cant handle extremes as well as continental and mihcilin pirelli p zero: more luxury oriented. smoother on bumps but sacrifices handling a little
I got 37,000 miles on mine without any tire rotation. The handling and grip of this tire is amazing. Slightly firm yet very responsive, handles bumps and potholes of New England like a champ WOW so worth the money. As the saying goes "You get what you pay for" I imagine if I rotated them every 5,000 miles I could've gotten close too the rated amount of miles Continental claims. This tire GLIDES through snow & rain with ease. Amazing traction. Love the tire.
Just got my new DWS 06 Continental pneu for my 2007 Audi a3 front truck, man these tire rocks excellent in wet dry and I try bit of snow too never had better tires before.highly recommended
Just ordered these tires with new wheels also and will be receiving them tomorrow. I've heard many great reviews of these tires and their predecessor! I will more than likely do my own review on them as well. Can't wait!!
Thanks for the video. I'm wondering if anyone knows why on Tire Rack and places like that the XL rating is what is often showing up for my 19" 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca? An SL or light load is hard to find. Do high performance sports cars require XL for some reason? Or can you explain the difference? Thank you anyone who happens to know this!
Hi, Considering to get these tires for my and my wife's car. The review is great, but you are testing on RWD cars only. Would these tires be a good fit for FWD? Looking for tires to eliminate tire hop. I have traction rods installed but the tire is also very important. Would you recommend this tire or another one maybe? Thank you!
What do you guys recommend between these tires and the Goodyear eagle sport all seasons?? I cannot make up my mind! Please give me your input comparing the two if you have some time, thank you
Go to the Tire Rack web site and compare the ratings from hundreds of customers for yourself. If winter traction is a priority in your all-season tire, the DWS is best bang for your buck.
I have a 22 Mustang which came with the Good Year F1 Asymmetic all -seasons. One drive in the rain and i got the DWS 6+ - the Good Years are like on ice in plain rain at 70F - bad tires. They may be good in the dry, but any spirited driving in the wet is a no-go for the Good Years.
How many miles until the ‘S’ wears away on the DWS06 and it’s then just a mediocre summer tire? I’ve heard it’s gone in as little as 10K miles, making this pointless.
The mileage one can expect to receive from a tire is affected by a large number of factors, including the vehicle, driving style, road conditions, rotation frequency and others, so it is difficult to predict how many miles before the “S” is eliminated. The ExtremeContact DWS06 begins with 10/32” of tread. Since the last 2/32” of tread on a tire is not usable (the wear bars are at 2/32”) this means the ExtremeContact DWS06 has 8/32” of usable tread. The “S” disappears when the tire has 5/32” remaining tread depth, so 3/8, or about 38%, of the tire’s tread depth features the “S”. With only 5/32” remaining tread depth, any tire has difficulty dealing with a large volume of snow, so the decrease in snow performance is a result of the shallow tread, and this is why Continental advises the tires only be used in dry and wet conditions at that point.
Just had a set put on my Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate AWD to replace the OEM Continental's which wore out after 20,000 mi. Any way I have staggered fit (245/45 19 F and 275/40 19 R) so no rotation possible (just left-right). A day after I got the tires we had a rain of biblical proportions and these tires performed fantastically. No slip or hydroplaning at all. Long story short - these are fantastic tires.
I have a 2016 VW GTI. Should I get these or the BFG G-force all season tires? I do spirited driving but wanted the best grip in the summer and don't care much for winter grip, although I still need all-seasons since I live in NJ.
While we have never compared the two tires directly, experience on both the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 and BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S has shown there is a difference in personality between the two tires. Though it is not high on your priority list, both tires have proven to be quite capable in light snow for all-season tires. The Continental has ultimate capabilities that are appropriate for an Ultra High Performance All-Season tire, but features a slightly softer ride and handling response that is a touch less responsive than some of the more performance-focused entries in the category. The BFGoodrich is taut and controlled while driving down the road and provides more direct and immediate steering, so if spirited driving is the highest priority, the BFGoodrich g-Force COMP-2 A/S is the more highly recommended option.
I'm currently in the market for tires but can't seem to make up my mind....My main concerns with the dws06 is the sidewall. Even though I know it is stiffer than dws, is the sidewall stiffness like the other uhps? This video has made me even more unsure since I can see the sidewall flex at 3:20 while Michelins seem unfazed.
+K Kshithij Kamal The video doesn’t try to capture the tire’s sidewall behavior in an identical way, so don’t judge by that. You would be surprised by how much every tire rolls over you “see” during hard cornering. The responsiveness of the DWS 06 you “feel" is an improvement over its predecessor, and satisfies most drivers. But if you really want crisp handling then the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 is the better choice.
I wanted the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus for my 2015 Audi A8, more focus on smooth quiet ride vs handling That's why I swapped out the 20" rims for 19" I know that the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 plus is quieter, rides better because of the softer sidewalls compared to The Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, the other tire I was considering, it handles better because of stiffer sidewall that causes vibration stiffer ride and road noise to get the handling My only concern is how long does it take on after for the S symbol to fade, making them summer tires, Then the W symbol fading away, making this a dry pavement tire Do you just throw them out? That's why I'm leaning toward the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, to avoid this Any thoughts anybody, or another tire in this category you would recommend
Hi, Adi. We're sorry to hear these tires didn't live up to your expectations! Next time you're in need of a new set, please reach out. We'd be happy to help you find another option that may better suit your needs.
Tire Rack I actually purchased Michelin PILOT SPORT ALL SEASON 4 last week from your site and they seem like great tires and not loud at all. Thanks for reaching out!
+Kalin Konnerth During our winter testing, we found the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 is able to start and stop in the snow with adequate capability, but struggles somewhat during cornering/handling. That being said, the new Pilot Sport A/S 3+ is now available to order, with stock in most sizes due in by mid-March, and one of the key areas of focus for the new tire is improved light snow traction. Though we haven’t tested the old and new tires head-to-head, our initial drive impressions have been favorable, and our preview report should be posted in the near future. Went with the Dws06s on my Focus ST. Even in rain, the front tires hook up right away no matter how hard I take off.
Same, I work at a tire shop, and my coworker put a set on his ST and came back the next day like "Dude, I can't lose traction even if I try" 😂
I'll save you some time.

Yeah how r they?
tire was trash i guess
100cv cv they’re good but a little rough at 39 psi. Softens up a lot below 36 psi but my car door sticker recommends 39
I'm ordering these to replace my potenza rft on my 2011 335xdrive msport - looking forward to feeling them out.. Compared to the stock rft
Wonder how the Nokian WR G4’s compare?

You're an idiot for even asking.
@@CRussell110 and you're a fucking dickhead for that dickhead response.

Could you test the michelin defender tires
lexusfan100 Test results for the Michelin Defender can be found here: www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=189
What are the wheels on these BMW's? Are they some Enkei?
+djipka The wheels are O.Z. Racing Alleggerita HLT in the matte graphite silver finish. For this vehicle, the size is 18" x 8" with a 34mm offset.

The Continental is rated for 50k miles; the Michelin a bit less………
Bro science strong with this one
We agree!
Good ol Olive bridge.
Extreme Contact rocks!!!!!!!
L. Dega agree and noisy as well, but a loud engine will take care of that . Traction is the best. Very sticky.
They were loud on my GTI
