Top Down Assembly - Pushing individual featureless bodies down to create components in Siemens NX

A couple of simple solutions showing how to push geometry down to create an assembly - referred to as a top down assembly, using Siemens NX. The first solution uses the Create New command allowing geometry to be selected as a component is created. The second solution exports the geometry using the Parasolid format and adds that geometry back into the assembly as a component before finally moving it to its own layer. This approach can be used having imported a flattened STEP assembly into NX to create an assembly.
