Goodness me…. £100 I have hydraulic assist maintenance stands for my moto-enduro and trials bikes which cost about £70-80 It’s funny how when a new niche is discovered how small companies come up with solutions that they “know” folk will pay over the odds for. It’s ironically a similar design to the one that I made from stainless myself, only mine had cost me £11 in material and £10 to use the pipe bender at my local engineering shop, so folks without £100 who have a little elbow grease available on tap…. There’s hope for a less expensive solution. That said my eBike was near £7k 3 years ago like LOL - spending £100 on a stand shouldn’t be so much of an issue relative to the value of the bike - but relative to the value of the material and labour in making a stand myself easily…. It’s a ton.
Totally agree it's stupidly expensive, and also agree it's not compared to the price of 8.5k bike. But is expensive for what it is. Similarly, the amygos motor armour is just a piece of moulded plastic, probably not more than 10€ in raw materials, but as a product and the convenience of not having to fabricate something using MY time, time is also valuable , so if I don't have to waste half of one of my days off going to an engineering facility, getting materials, etc, with that in mind, the items expensive price are softened considerably.
