Great work #MercedesAMG, could we see this engine in a Black Series version of the C63 AMG Coupé, that would be a great final hurra for the W205 / C205 generation?
"Well above 400 kg of downforce at 250 km/h" is crazy good. For reference, the 911 GT2 RS has 450 kg (in racing configuration) at 340 km/h... meaning the AMG has 94% (if we assume "well above 400kg = ~425kg") of the downforce the GT2 RS has at only 74% of the speed of the latter.
I asked one of my friends whos an aerodynamics expert about the wing and it's alot smarter than may seem. Long story short, the flap makes an effect similar to the slots and cutout on the endplates of an F1 wing. Amazing stuff.

Talked with local Mercedes dealer higher-ups, it starts at 330k+, anyone can apply for an allocation, but preference is given to people who already own a black series car (only first owners of the car counts), then to existing amg owners (the more recent and expensive the purchase the better). Dealer would also do a 50k+ markup (if they are generous). After options, markup, taxes, you are looking at close to 500k. I know a guy who bought the clk black series back when it was new. Being the first black series in the us it wasn’t very popular back then, he even got a discount for it (bought it for 60k when msrp is 70k ish). He told me he might be applying for an allocation for this car. God I’m jealous.
There is no limitations of how many gt r black series will be build. They will build it for a whole year and then it stops The demand in that year is the limitation. There can be build a thousand or just a 100

Kevin C I'm sure in a drag race the AMG GT Black Series will be faster than the new Corvette C8 because it will have more traction and a better launch system which will bring a more precise start 😉 (of course depending on the driver) 👍🏼✅

At the moment, no other German car brand apart from Porsche can compete with Mercedes in the hardcore/track focused sports car sector, that's a fact! ✅👍🏼
All 911's have an awkward stance look at the rear especially the GT3 and GT2, looks so boxy and like its on Welded springs lol. No amg gt looks that bad.
Amazing video Mercedes-AMG! I find the active aerodynamics incredibly interesting. I do wonder whether the engineers considered to incorporate a goose neck rear wing mount to further increase and maximize the amount of downforce. Thanks for sharing this in-depth video. 😊
Matija Potic there won’t be one tho. This amg gt black series would just be the most powerful, exclusive and expensive production model in the amg gt line. This might just possibly be the last version of the amg gt, just like the sls amg black series.

This is basically almost Viper ACR Extreme level. ACR Extreme produces 550Kg at 250 km/h.
