    PART FIVE CONTENTS:
Dennis Duval, Jimmy Lee, Mike Lee, and Coach Roy Danforth share their Manley Field House memories.
    OVER VIEW:
In this seven-part series we revisit the days of Syracuse University athletics before the Carrier/ JMA Wireless Dome era.
This isn’t in any way a comprehensive history of that time, but merely a look at some of the achievements of a group of athletes I was able to connect with from December 2022 to June 2023.
All too often the radiance of the present diminishes the brilliance of the past. “WHERE THEY DON’T PLAY THE GAMES ANYMORE” is an attempt to perpetuate the enduring legacy of some of Syracuse University’s finest athletes from the past.

Loved Manley and the Zoo. I had the pleasure of driving the sports bus for Mike Lee as a coach of some of our younger F-M HS basketball teams. He had some great stories. Because of he and brother Jim's rural upbringing, Coach Danforth asked if they learned to shoot at a converted peach basket. Also, Mike said he was so frustrated during one game, that he kicked the basketball up into the stands. The opposing coach was trying to get the refs to notice and respond - Roy Danforth went over too, distracting the refs until the fans passed the ball back down to the court! No T and the game continued....

I went to the Field house in 63' and saw the freshman team beat up the varsity. That 66' team was a fans dream.Bing doing spectacular things and they scored 100 most games. The Dome was a great addition but in Manley you could hear the players trash talk and just feel like you were down on the floor.Great memories

Thank you for these amazing videos. What a gift to see these. I was a Class of 82 grad, so seeing this history is fascinating.
