"Not like StarCraft, you don't have to be so fast in WarCraft 3"
*plays WC3 fast as fuck*
I'm never touching StarCraft.
**keyboarding intensifies **
@Renzeekin Just remember this quote: "The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time"
I remember a guy who played wc3 some years ago, his nick was CADx2-Craft, he played orc and had around 70 apm and he still was able to beat top-class guys, his TC play was so awesome
Cool
Good old moon.
good old WC3
Just comeback here to make sure the video is still available
10 years and still amazes me dude
You don't have to be that quick in Warcraft 3...
*proceeds to click buttons at godlike speeds*
I had an APM of 300 once, then I took an arrow in the hand...
cringe
@@mortalkombat334 shut up. Shits a classic and was posted 10 years ago before your normie ass was probably born.
I can see the effect when in combat in Warcraft (and in Starcraft when you have multiple units with spells to use) because being able to use these spells of different units quickly can have a great effect. Outside of combat, though, it seems not to be nearly as effective. Not that clicking and switching quickly isn't great, but just like a stat-cap on WoW, it's useless past a certain point because there's only so many actions you could be doing.

@ciprianoroi APM is really important because like said in the video, it checks how fast you can draw picture to your screen with a keyboard and mouse. Every time your APM is good it gets better and better. And the better your APM is the more active your brain will become. The more active your brain becomes the faster and the better you play. If your brain is as bored as a rock then it's hard to remember builds in a nick of time.
@ShakeITyEA Which is quite impressive when you're fighting numerous fights and microing all the units, while consistently making new ones all done at a rate of at least 3 moves per second. It's sort of like multi tasking to the extreme...it's not something that's easy to do. You have to divert your focus to several things at once and execute actions as fast as possible.
So this is where Cookiezi’s stamina was coming from
1:23
*How quick is your Apm ?*
"An Average. Maybe a little quicker than average."
Play Warcraft ; going so fast, leaving the mouse using his two hands for a macro, then retaking the mouse, missing nothing of the game.
Journalist : *Pokerface*
so what I've learned form this video is that speed is everything in this game
and thats exactly what im going to count on!
"You don't have to be so fast in Warcraft 3 unlike Starcraft." *CUT SCENE* *ROLLING HANDS ACROSS KEYBOARD SLAMMING FACE INTO IT RAINBOWS FLYING OUT*
@YaMoZzO they're keeping their fingers warmed up so they won't be too slow when they really need to macro/micro like crazy
old but gold
It seems like at least half of their input is completely pointless and just for show.
Chubzdoomer The reason you see them click ts much is to keep up the pace. As soon as you slow down or "take a break" because there's not much to do at the start of the game, you'll begin to slow down and it is noticeable on your gameplay. The extra clicks keep up the pace, so in reality it is actually doing something and not completely pointless.
BigFudgeZING Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!
You're half right. The keyboard inputs do nothing in the game except (for example) switching back and forth between hot keys for no reason. However, for the players themselves, pressing the keys this fast helps them keep a rhythm going for late game when they actually need every single keystroke to be as fast as the warmups.
Chubzdoomer yeah its just for the point of 'keeping on your toes' as they say so that you dont start to get lazy in your play ect
+Chubzdoomer
I agree. I know some people who do that because they have ADD. Another reason is they have just drunk red bull or mountain dew and eaten junk food - typical food people eat when gaming. i dont know, bu to me it is really annoying to watch starcraft RUclips videos of people who do that. i'de rather just watch videos of people casting games.
This guy competing with Sean Wrona in a typing championship would be off of the charts!
spamming 1,2,3 and right click (move) is like 1/2 of the APM.. I remember a great w3 player zacard had only like 120 APM and it was enough because it was effective APM.
1:50
when he wants to put building down it takes him 2 sec almost Spam :P
@Marauder2005 well 2 reasons he does that 1 to keep his fingers nimble for when he needs a high apm. and 2 most of the time he will have multipul squads and its not like multiselect sc2 so he needs to tell attack for all of them
Wow this video have made 11 years ago ❤️❤️
I find it hard for this to be enjoyable when you're playing this fast. Can't even appreciate the lore lol.
I think the 1 and 3 buttons might be important
"You don't have to be so fast in warcraft 3" uh huh
i do the same searching porn
How your (grand)parents see you when you do something for them as simple as opening an email.
All I can tell every guys who asks what these pros do outside of gaming scene, they're just ordinary people like you. You just don't get involved and watch these guys, how they play and live, so asking that is quite obvious. They are just normal people like us, except they have a phenomenal brain and hands.
This video cures my depression
@TheTrueYodaMaster
Double clicking control groups(1-0) centers the camera on the group your using. Its faster than trying to scroll the camera with the mouse or using the minimap.
Id say they actually all did something useful, and spamming those keys, brought up control groups, getting info on buildings, tech, units, etc. Helped get units and etc. You do need high APM generally to compete, and yes there are exceptions to that such as TLO
it's their living, they don't enjoy it. But they do make a handsome living, about 100k+ per year, especially NaDa. He was one of the best.
Seeing this player pressing buttons really fast is scary and my hand feels it cramping.
Just think of it you are driving
I dont think APM is everything, its just that these guys are so good at decision making and could click faster at the same time.
@Luburium they have a macro, that selects a unit and adds them into a group so it looks like their selecting same units over and over but there's something different.
Wait, what's wrong with just ordering your units to attack. And watch the action unfold. Why do you have to click 1000 clicks per second for same actionTo happen?
scgamerd because at the same time you press the hotkey where your productions and start making units while macroing and microing while defending and attacking it's too much multitasking that's why
@magicpwnage Wich means exactly what i said it means IN ORDER to do something right and put building somwhere he needs 2 sec wich is 30APM if i am correct.
@stigblue No way! The competition is the fun part. Having high APM becomes habit and you don't even think about it after a while.
@PardoxicalWizzard In the beginning it's useless, because the actions go to waste, but after that, they're used to micro/macro
@bonghits420 Whenever they issue a command, Nada and Moon instinctively know what to do next. They've honed that instinct through persistent practice; for the most part, they're not thinking about what to do; they're remembering what they've done thousands of times before.
So RTS has become RTAPM.
Greaaaat.
I have around 200 APM average (and I don't just spam randomly to get a higher number, I do stuff), I've been beaten by people having 60-80 APM. Being fast is good, but making a bad decision faster than your opponent won't help at all.
@Adovid Yeah, I didn't say it wasn't? o_o They're still spamming for extra APM, look at the very beginning of the video. He actually uses scrolling instead of double pressing the control group..
@javitshu Me alegra que sepas reconocer tus errores, eso siginfica que eres mucho más maduro y mejor persona de lo que parecía en un principio. Ojalá esto te sea útil en el futuro.
@twistquist they are using the the razer salmosa(i use that one) and the razer copperhead i think, not the lycosa :)
Damn..that is ridiculous. How can you comprehend everything that your doing?!
That apm was such an overkill.
Damn !! How wickedly these guys are fast in control =))
i think i saw one dota movie featuring Nada's SF. where no razes are missed even on invis heroes. APM #FTW
@faloc there is no apm in fps. or are you talking about frames per second. If you are that makes no sense
@eguren Y otro socio más... bufff... que facil parece ahora... a ver si se hace realidad tu deseo!!
in the warcraft segment....all that additional APM/clicking was 100% useless. he did like 100 clicks while staring at his group of units that did not move at all, and then he sent 1 wisp to farm a tree and another to build a structure. he then moved his group to go farm a nearby creep camp.....come one man that was 3 effective actions while everything else was just inflating your apm.....Impressive!? I think not! If anything its painful for any viewers to watch and probably what's killing this genera.
@jesuszafra si tienes razon, el apm puede ser util, pero algunos jugadores se obsecionan con tratar de tener un alto apm que solo se concentran en seleccionar unidades y dar clicks a lo tonto.
@Munsk So spending a lifetime kicking at leather balls is THAT much more usefull? "Simply" pressing buttons doesn't cut to it.
Also, I do read books, a bit to much since it makes me lack alot of sleep.
@soocl0se it's only fake in the beginning. When they're in a full-scale map it's not fake. There's a reason people with 300+ APM are the best players in the world.
@KillFect
WoW doesn't take any apm at all. You just hit a pattern of a few buttons over and over. 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 oh, my buff ran out? okay, 4,1,2,3
@TheTrueYodaMaster its just warmup its not spam. they dont do it for no reason
Why so many ppl hating on these guys? They're awesome........... and the pay for the korean pro league(yes there is a starcraft 2 pro league there) is ridiculous. Those guys are considered celebs.
Another thing i don't understand................... if the ppl commenting here are hating so hard on them *coughjealouscough* .......... then why watch the video in the first place?
@KoolDudester That still doesn't explain why playing the game faster should decrease the level of fun...
@macibax pues si, a mi lo que me impresiona es alguien con un apm efectivo, esto es que todos sus clicks tienen importancia en el transcurso del juego.
can someone explain to me how SC requieres to be faster than in WC3?, i never played SC :(
Strong Independent Black Woman Who Dont Need No Man
The amount of hot keys allows faster people to:
1:Not need to cue at all, saving resources
2: macro and micro at the same time, so you build an army and perfectly control an army at the same time
3: switch what you’re building on a dime, from zerglings to overlords to drones to ultralisks and, if you’re “just Monika”, then being Zerg and building void rays, Carriers, and infesters.
4: fast expansion.
Hot keys require you to be fast, but it’s a massive payoff. I play brood war, and just by using hot keys to build drones and zerglings, I got a WAY bigger army.
holy fuck, it'd take me three years to do all the moves they do in one game
@luisalbertojr Si supieras la pasta que se levanta en los torneos de Starcraft no creo que pensaras eso...
"I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING"! randomly taps alt f4
maybe you dont realize the keyboard video isnt synced with the gameplay video
@Gaboerz69 This is Korea, not Japan.
I just saw this video. Can anyone tell me what is it and why are they clicking keyboard very fast. Cant it br slow
@KoolDudester I guess YOU can't, I'm pretty sure a lot of of the faster players are having fun.
HOLY SHIT. Looks awesome!!
Why have I seen this 20 times on youtube. This craps so old.
to make an SVC and micro them to collect minerals at 0:00 it probably takes him 100 actions just to make it look like he has a high APM, he is just spamming
That last guy was very humble..
ok, he was clicking extremely fast and switching control groups like a madman, but what was he effectively doing? only attacking and switching back to his base for buildings.
@Marauder2005
If you're only clicking once, then you arent microing at all.
Damm man, where is the fun of gaming it's not a contest of how quick you can click your buttons! Just enjoy the game
Yea, yea fantastic finger speed but in a lot of mmo's its not possible to do 200-300 apm's as the majority of skills have cooldowns and you simply can't spam a skill that many times.
Hence why this skill is for RTS' only... why would they even consider doing this in MMOs? The only reason they need this APM is for micro-management of tons of units which doesn't exist in MMOs
Mac Abdul however, for instantaneous APM, it might be equal. And in MOBAs, everyone clicks every second and it's still needed
Someone knows the keyboard name?
They say, even when these guys are sleeping the keyboard types themselves
@luisalbertojr estuviera es con V, no lo digo por joder, pero como has intentado rectificar lo de estaría... ya puestos a rectificar... bss
It's not necessarily about having the fastest APM, it's having the smartest APM.
@skyrabbit74 well in a way its thier job doing this, but its thier dream. . they may not show it while they play but they would be greatful in many ways that they can do what they love and enjoy while making a career of it.
that's what they're doing except a million times faster. plus they have the dexterity and mechanics to keep up with it.
That´s...i have no words for it.
@soocl0se I think anything in the hundreds in the beginning is BS, and anything over 300 later is also BS. But being able to focus fire with different unit types to the enemy's specific units while creating your own units back at your base and reinforcing your army with rally points takes a lot of work. If you're not focus firing and microing and macroing, you're not going to do as well as someone who does.
@Munsk Because they're good at something and make alot of money?
why do they like to use crt monitors? when you can just get a benq 120hz
back in the day there was no 120hz flat screen. :P
TheNesnalica but back in the day there were no deathadders either :p
Me suddenly remerber wc3 fastest micro hand and here i am nostalgic back the video
How can you enjoy games this way ?
He is making tons of useless actions in the warcraft 3 video, you can see him being very inaccurate in his Ancient of Wonder's placement, missing the click 4 times, and he just continuously selects his Demon Hunter and Archers even though he isn't even accomplishing any sort of task. He A-clicks the strong ogre, then just watches while spamming useless APM. He isn't fast at all, anyone can do that. The only "micro" he did, was pulling his DH back for his archers to catch up. *sighs.*
@shadowfuri this is the right speed , just look at his hotkeys , instead of selecting a unit , moving it , selecting another unit , moving it , he repeatedly strikes both hotkeys and click click like crazy , instead of 4 actions he does 50 , not all players play like this , WhiteRA , who is a renoun player , has 108 apm and still kick ass ,, ITS KEY SPAMMING LIKE CRAZY
No me extraña que pueda pulsar tantas teclas a la vez con esas uñacas.
I think they should start measuring Actions per second
whatever happened to this guy? He seemed to disappear
Same i wanna know to.
Moon is obviously using a speedscroll
Cookiezi
he's good... at selecting and deselecting units 300 times per minute : )
Just like, walking in circles with no reason in mobas doing 300 clicks on the map?
hahahha exactly : let's see who can get tendinitis first! click click click click!
I'm kidding but yep, most clicks seem useless to me. And specially in the earliest championships, they just click for nothing.
PTwolf I don't play starcraft nor any RTS but I've read some reddit post saying that doing "useless" clicking keeps the focus and intense in the game.
I think I've read that you can't suddenly become "fast" within seconds, so you need to be active all the time and by doing the useless stuff will cut the moment from "cooldown" to "intense"
interesting.. :) seems like a good reason, altho it looks ridiculous in some games... also... probably it may be a loss of time to be randomly clicking instead of actually thinking about the game. Can block their mind probably. Well i don't know, when I play RTS ( Battle Realms in my case ) I try to be the fast i can in the beggining, but doing programmed stepps that are faster, and than I have to make decisions and think about what to do next ( without stopping to play but also without random clicks.
PTwolf NOOOO, they commanding individual units and the fact that there can be as much as 100 unit son the map at one time, all over the place explains why speed is of the essence . You need awesome memory , fast memory recall and the ability to click and type very fast. They dont do any random clicks , every move they make has a reason and which is why this is so insanely awesome and hard. Anyone can gradually learn to click that fast . but to be able to click that fast for the correct reasons is what differentiates these guys from us. They literally controlling 100 individual units, and reacting to each move their opponent is making. Admittedly for some of these guys its all about the APm as they learn the game, but at some point they have to be making the correct decision or that APM is meaningless.
Please give me a nickname these two players . !!
@Kokomokox
Starcraft 2 is a lot better in the APM department. You can queue actions with shift, and only one unit will use it's ability if you select 8 of em and press the ability.
Example: 8 Ghosts, click EMP and hold shift while clicking in a line, one ghost at a time will EMP at every point you said. Actually the AI is kind of cool, even the nearest with enough energy will do it, instead of choosing one far away.
Not nearly as much APM needed to do the same things in SC2.
