  • Part 3 of a 4 part series. A compendium of shortline, industrial and interurban freight traction in the western US from the 1930's to 2000. Sounds added when required from my video library.

Thank you for sharing the railroading years past with us, before the major mergers. It brings back memories! Your clips remind me of Grayson Meints.

Another great compilation! I was surprised by the clarity of the Texas Transportation line so checked up to see that it operated until around 2000. Pity I did not know about it as I would have tried to get there on one of my US trips - too late now unfortunately. Pity it had to close but I guess when the work dried up its purpose no longer existed.

What are the class of electrics and what whistle did they use and do any of the electrics still exist?

@@theanimerailfanthehagersto1280 I have no idea, having never seen these, but the creator of the video, Richard Frey, should be able if you leave a message on his RUclips site.

I would say this is in San Antonio, Pearl Brewery or Lonestar Brewery, it's been over 30 years since I visited.

FWIW, Sacramento Northern 652 & 654 are at the Western Railway Museum at Rio Vista Junction (Suis in City), CA.
      654 still runs.

I missed out seeing the electric motor cars just north of Buffalo, NY. Great to see some video of these locomotives in action. Thank you.

The Pearl Brewery building in San Antonio has been repurposed and gentrified. But some of the old tracks are still there.
These were some great memories of yesteryear. Thanks for curating, editing and sharing them with us.
I noted the "sidewinder" trolleys on some of the mine locos.
