Good game from a great ballpark, and NBC always did a class job with baseball. Thanks for posting this! Never enough Tiger Stadium games!

Tiger Stadium was a great, old ballpark. Very unique. I miss it.

Absolutely. The design, the decking, the great shadows, the dimensions, the history, the gradients of power--into the lower deck, off the facing of the upper deck, off the roof, etc.--the fans being right on top of the action--it was beautiful. Fenway and Wrigley have been well-sustained. Tiger Stadium should've been, too. Detroit needs to keep its history alive.

In my opinion it was the best mlb ballpark ever.

      agreed!
I was 12 years old and saw my only game at Tiger Stadium during this very season (1988) against the Baltimore Orioles. I looked it up online to see what day it was as the only thing I remembered about the game was Mickey Tettelton hitting a home run late in the game (his second of the game!) to seal it for Baltimore, which would be hilarious later as Tettelton signed with the Tigers as a free agent the very next year 😆 I also remember almost catching a foul ball from a Tiger batter, I think it was Pat Sheridan although I'm not 100% certain. We sat near the LF foul pole in foul territory right behind the Tigers bullpen. It was a pretty cool spot to see the game. I also remember that the game (like most non-WDIV and Network games) was carried by PASS (Pro-Am Sports System) and we recorded it on VHS, but I think the tape either got taped over later on or we simply lost the tape 😪 which sucks because you could barely make us out on that foul ball when it went into the stands, lol
Looking up the details on Baseball Reference, the date of the game that I attended was June 13th, 1988. It's funny, the memories of that night and the game play in my head like a grainy 8mm film now with the passage of all of that time. Nobody back then would realize that in just ten more years that Tiger Stadium would be no more 😞

That pregame interview with Jim rice was bs… no wonder he didn’t like the media, all Marv wanted to talk about was negative bs.

Jim brought it on himself with all the crap that he pulled that year. And for many years before that. He was a total D bag.

Things fell apart towards the end of the month when the Tigers were swept in a four-game series against Minnesota that year.

    Darrell Evans=Buck Showalter.
    Uncanny resemblance!

Any more Mets games you have from 1988 coming - I’m looking for Cubs vs Mets, June 4, 1988

We do not have that game. We also are careful not to duplicate other RUclips accounts who may already have uploaded games we have.
