Julius Jahnke haha well spotted, I saw a product that you can spray onto your brickwork that completely waterproofs it, that would have to be done to a certain height here otherwise moisture would creep right through those bricks.
They probably make the owner sign a release that they are only protecting the openings where their equipment is. You would hope, though, they would at least point out the grill on the left.
