    I had a dual axle dump trailer that was balding tires at an amazing rate. When I took it in to get fixed, they found that it was not the fault of the axle but that somebody had backed it into a curb, or something like that, and torqued the spring. They replaced the spring and it fixed the problem. Glad you got yours fixed without having to spend the night displaced from your home!

    We love White Tank Mt. Regional Park, Maricopa Cty. We have friends in Surprise, so WT is a great place to stay when we are in that area. When you return to AZ, be sure to visit Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument south of Gila Bend. The 21 mile self guided tour (one way road) in the park is spectacular! Get the free mile post guide from the ranger station. We spend 3 months in AZ to get away from WA winters.

    In-N-Out is our choice on almost a weekly basis when trying to save $$ but not wanting to make a mess in the kitchen. They might not have the "best" burgers, especially for us vegetarians, but for the $$, you get good food from a company that sources fresh ingredients, and they treat their employees very well. Our favorite shopping locations are the small shops in Solvang & Santa Barbara (California), Florence & Astoria (Oregon), or any other small town shops. If you pass through Santa Barbara, we highly recommend checking them out.

Lots of good family fun......check, good photography.....check, and Cory washing the truck......check. Yup all the makings were there. We spent all of February and most of March in Arizona and I swear the desert grows on a person. Finding Our Someday - we hope to come south this winter again as we really enjoyed the country. Travel will depend on border restrictions and whether we can get health insurance. Lots up in the air with this virus. Provincial Parks up here are open with 50% capacity and beaches, shower facilities and playgrounds will remain closed. We will likely spend most of the summer moochdocking with our family as they have a serviced lake lot. We’ll see what the fall brings and how our leaders react to any changes in the status of the pandemic.

    We are from Phoenix, but we spend at lease one week a year in Oceanside. I taught both of my kids to surf there and have eaten in that same In-n-Out. My favorite restaurants in San Diego county though are Hodads for Burgers, I think 3 locations in San Diego and Johnny Mananas in Oceanside by the pier for Mexican food.
    We have also had Little Dealer Little Prices in Mesa do warranty work on our Solitude. They are great. The park you stayed at is administered by Maricopa County, not state or federal. The county runs several regional parks ringing the city of Phoenix, Lake Pleasant to the Northwest, Estrella to the Southwest, White Tanks to the West, San Tan Mountain to the Southeast, Usury Mountain Park to the East McDowell Mountain Park to the Northeast. I am not sure all of them have camping and the parks I have camped at were not as nice as where you were. So glad you came through when you did, Arizona is at it's best in the fall.

    Really wanted more details on your axle problem. I had tire wear and 80 miles before we arrived to final destination we lost a axle bearing. Went from 5200# Dexter to 6000# Lippert. We think (not yet confirmed) there was a issue on how they welded the leaf spring saddles to the axle tube. They weren't level.

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  4 года назад

      We don’t really know what the problem was. The axle didn’t “seem” bent, and when we were in Alaska we Re packed all the bearings to make sure that wasn’t the issue(it wasn’t) . Because of warranty we ended up just replacing with 4400 lb Dexter , but we may replace this year with 5200 Lippert. What rig do you have?

    • @opaandomascampingadventures
      @opaandomascampingadventures 4 года назад +1

      We have the 315 Reflection Think we might of located part of the issue. The saddle mounts were 2.5 degrees of horizontal from each other. Acceptable by dexters standards. Lippert said it should never be more than 1 degree. Upgrading from 5200 dexter to 6000 Lippert’s.

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  4 года назад +1

      Opa and Oma’s Camping Adventures 2.5 degrees seems like a lot! Just dragging those wheels down the road! We’re excited about the 5200 lb axles we could use the extra piece of mind not to mention the extra cargo! Good luck on the upgrade I’d be interested to hear how it turns out !

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  3 года назад +1

      Sort of, we thought we were set on a Winnebago 27bhss which is basically the 2800 Bh . We liked the light interior of the Winnebago . We had seen ours already but had seen the 2017 version of it and I didn’t like that the TV came out of the counter so we wrote it off. They fixed it in 2018 (the year we have)
      All that being said I think that is one of the best most efficient layouts, especially if you’re part time. We chose ours for a few reasons, solid door on for the girls room for more privacy, lots of countertop space, a more homey feeling with the small hallway, and more storage.

      @@FindingOurSomeday we went with the imagine 3170bh. We travel about 4/5 times a year(outside of COVID 😞) but we keep the trailer at a seasonal spot for both winter storage and so we can go up on weekends. My hubby works from home so he was planning to work from the trailer at the seasonal site and let the kids (12 & 9)enjoy the campground throughout the week. So having a true room for the kids was a big selling point. I would love to travel full time but I don’t currently have a mobile type job- my main area is in early intervention. Kudos to Jess for getting into that ice cold Pacific water. I traveled to San Diego for my son-in-law’s BUDS graduation back in 2012. I had never been up close to the ocean there, so my daughter took me out to Imperial Beach. Maybe I just always assumed that Southern CA would naturally have warm water. After all, San Diego is basically at the same latitude as Myrtle Beach. I was SHOCKED when my foot hit the water. It’s just one of those things in nature that “shouldn’t be”. Also, Five Guys > In-N-Out. Sue me.

    • @FindingOurSomeday
      @FindingOurSomeday  4 года назад

      I learned the same thing when visiting San Diego in high school back in 98, I thought the water would be warm as well! Water comes down in the west coast and up on the east coast. The Gulf Stream is crazy off the coast of Florida, basically a river in the middle of the ocean . Didn’t do much when going across it on my ship in the navy but you could feel in the 60 ft yacht I was on years later. No judgment here, five guys owns them all. 5 guys is our favorite. We go there a lot of times and just split a large fry.

      @@FindingOurSomeday Hi Corey. I wrote this already once, but posted under a different name, then deleted it before saving it. So let me say it again. We took our new RV out for the very first time last weekend after almost a year of planning, scheming, and preparing. We had a lot of false starts with the state of FL canceling our reservations because of COVID, but we finally got out there to Hillsborough River State Park just east of Tampa. The first thing we said when we hit the road from our home was, "THANK YOU, Finding Our Someday!" Without realizing or knowing it, you, Jess, Lilly and Leila became a HUGE inspiration to us, moreso than any other channel/person/family, and you were instrumental in pushing us along to complete the dream.
      We're not full-timers, nor will we ever be, but we learned SO MUCH from you -- not necessarily in the nuts and bolts of HOW to do things, but more importantly and poignantly in the WHY we do things. Thank you again for being such great examples and outstanding people! Whenever you get down on bad days and wonder why you're out there, you'll always be able to say that you were the primary encourager of at least ONE family for sure. And that's priceless.
      Onward, brother!
