Nice review and recap. It’s been a bit since I’ve read it. I read the trifecta (BNW, 1984, and 451) all in a row in high school (not for high school, high school isn’t that cool).

We had a similar experience! BNW, 1984, and Handmaid's Tale all in a row junior year - but we were very lucky, they were for high school. Shout out to Ms. Crawford for assigning awesome books and generally being a cool lady.

Embarrassed to say i've never read this one!

Another way to look at it is you’re lucky - you only get to read great books for the first time once!

@@hugonautspod that's a great spin! I've read a few books from 70 years ago or so recently some are hit and miss, will be eager to see if it still translates!

    Sounds like late stage capitalism

I should say “drug policies”. There’s no such thing as “safe supply”. It’s an evil way to destroy ppls lives.

Soma = Trudeau’s pot policies (and it’s working = ppl are complacent, dumber and unmotivated). The biggest shortcoming in your commentary (at the end) is your giving a pass to everyone who chooses hedonism and you don’t factor in the cost. Who is going to pay for them to do pneumatics all day long?
