There's prolly a need for a refurbishment of some of the rules to prevent Newtown's style of play. It's just that it goes directly against the exciting environment TST tried to create. A timer in possession e.g., to at least force an attempt off the attacker, or a ball out if you don't want to risk a counter. Also, the number of players teams have differs pretty wildly, the fitness levels disparities are noticeable as the time and the tournament goes on. It's on them because then the team has to share the money between more people, but it makes it so the finalists are bound to keep on repeating. The Roha Eagles had like 3 possible subs while Newtown could almost field 3 teams haha.
Futsal went through the same evolution of rules to keep game fast and exciting. 5 second possession rule for goalie and 1 pass per possession to keeper. If a keeper plays in offensive half the 5 sec. rule is off and they can touch just like field plyers.
I agree 100% they have to add that futsal rule.. along with keeper can't score by throwing it into an empty net (ruined the one game in 32 round), has to kick it only
I like the sounds of those rules, but I don't think the "If a keeper plays in offensive half, the 5 sec. rule is off and they can touch just like field players" should apply. Newtowns goalie would just stand one or two feet further forward so he's technically _JUST_ inside the opposition half, so that he could hold the ball for more than 5 secs, but....if the team are still limited to only pass to him once during a period of possession, I guess that could help.

And since the defending team knows the futsal rule is in place, they can afford to press more to cause a mistake.. in futsal it cuts out those scenarios because the attacking team knows they can’t push the keeper up unless they really have to go with an extra man
I think they DONT have the talent to win outright, which is why they play that way lol. Nani's team is the one that's absolutely stacked, even took one of Newtons few talented talented players to have that extra bit of experience too 😂

Once it went down to 4 vs 4 … Newton would literally take minutes before looking to even take a shot. This happened in the reggae rovers match and tonight against Nani FC. I feel the competition committee should do something to prevent that from happening in next year’s tournament. If Nani Fc hadn’t pressed … Newtown Pride FC would literally stop the ball minutes at a time.

Falcao is more elegant with the ball and has a better shot. It is actually a lot like Messi vs. Christiano. In that game they goth scored twice but Falcao's team won 6-2 and he also had two assists and won a pk. I would rate them both 11/10 and be done with it.
Nah he wasn't even their starter.. I think the #1 got injured last game... this guy he's a little slow on the ball too almost got caught a few times today but made some good saves for sure

The goalie shouldn't be able to just stand on the ball forever. 4 second for the goalkeeper to distribute the ball or with the ball at his feet in his half (like in Futsal) the same for kick-ins would be my suggestion.
I disagree overall. The only thing is teams found the loophole in no rules specific to goalie holding the ball, in futsal a goalie can only touch the ball once in their own half. That rule alone would kill all of these time wasting tactics that slow the game down

So say a team 'wins' regulation time 3-1, the Target Score become 4 (3+1), meaning the team leading 3-1 just need to score once more to hit that target score, whereas the team that's losing can still win, but they'll need to score 3 unanswered goals to reach that target score of 4. If the teams are drawing at the end of regulation time, it's basically next goal wins. Meanwhile, every 3 minutes that pass in TST, both teams lose a player each, and eventually it can go down to 2v2 (as happened in this game)
@@ryanconnelly1622 1 goal is added to whoever the leading team's score line is after 40 mins of play to create the target score; so if team A has 2 goals after 40 mins and team B has 1 goal, the target score will be 3 goals. team A would just have to score 1 more to reach the target score and effectively win, while team B will have to score 2 (its more beneficial to have as many goals after 40 mins, so that the other team would have to work harder to reach the target score while you would just have to score 1 to win). also, one player from each team is removed after every five mins the target score isn't achieved.

Does futsal go down to 2v2? To me, nothing lower than 5v5 is legit. Don't think a shot clock is practical.
