I think this was probably the most accurately ranked competition category for me ever in any beatbox competition. I thought it was criminal Antrix getting last place when it should’ve gone to Frosty, and just listening to his performance I can’t tell what he did that put him there, but I watched Inkie’s analysis video and was something about the drums sounding too produced and not enough like beatbox, I think. But then I thought, didn’t pretty much all the other competitors have very produced sounding beats? Frosty had the most beatbox sounding beats. So, it’s still hard to wrap my head around but whatever. Other than that I can’t really complain about the rankings as I know for sure SyJo was #1 and KBA #2 for me and those are the placements they got. It’s not always about heavy drops. There’s something about the big atmosphere in SyJo’s first track that is like big ear candy to me. All that melodic stuff going finally into the big drops is why he’s #1 for me. And of course KBA #2 for the atmosphere and drops and those sound textures when he was making the heartbeat and speakers and basses. Very creative. And I do agree with third and maybe I could’ve had Antrix at fourth, Kaos at fifth and Frosty at sixth, but still pretty solid ranking. They all were great despite any little mistakes they may have had live. That’s why I love watching Inkie’s analysis videos because he was there judging live and is able to speak on live versus the videos because the videos I don’t really hear any mistakes whereas live they say there were a few here and there and where the mistakes were.
Nope. I’m the same. Like when those synth pads came in. I could listen to just the drums and synth pads on repeat all day. Melodic music really gets me. It’s like ear candy to me. I like a good, heavy drop too, but it doesn’t always have to be about that. I know a lot of people had SyJo in third place, but nah, he definitely earned his #1 placement.

KBA round 1 was my favourite overall. Syjo was my favourite from round 2 but Kaos and KBA were close
