This video is genuinely really well made, and you deserve a whole lot more subs than this. This is the type of content I'd expect from a 100K+ sub channel and not someone who doesn't even have 10k yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing your channel blow up in the future haha, I also appreciate the unique placing since a lot of people tend to rank these based off of their own personal bias, but this video genuinely looks at it from both sides and if someone would ask me to point out a specific moment in the video where you showed personal bias, I'd definitely have some trouble finding it lol. (I haven't played this game in three or four years, so my opinions are probably outdated, but still-)
Thankyou! I'm so glad that you said this because one of my biggest concerns with this video was whether it represented my own views and the technicality of the realms in a balanced way and welp, I guess it did. Definitely hope to stick to this approach with future videos too.
haha awesome! the idea is that i review whatever i enjoy and i just happen to like both. definitely gonna upload more on both of them in future assuming i have the time
I really liked both your map ranking videos (your Hitman video actually convinced me to get the game). I'd be interested to see you rank the maps of Doom/Doom: Eternal, since I think they have some incredibly designed locations with challenging combat encounters.
Thankyou so much for that, I'm so glad you enjoyed them both. I haven't played Doom 2016 or Eternal yet, but my god would I love to play and review them they look SO good.
Honestly, aside from the terror radius hijinks which aren't really the map's fault, I think Midwich's only major designed flaw is how the east and west hallways work. There's no reason they should be these empty tunnels without cover that can only connect to the classrooms, just making them wider and moving the lockers around would already help a bit with sightlines there, adding an opening to the courtyard that changes floors with RNG (as in, the opening could be on the first or second floor depending on the map seed) would then make the map more connected without screwing with the courtyard too much.
I 100% agree. The corridors are the main reason as to why the map is so killer sided and if they were a bit more like Lery's it'd vastly improve the map for sure.
@@SAMUSUMA Lery's would definitely be a good map to use as reference in that regard, not sure if pallets in the hallway itself would work in Midwich though* since there's already the strong stairway ones
@@yuri_fisj Those ones tend to be broken quickly cause they're not really used in loops (unless survivors are evil), so I don't think they'd be that much of an issue. They could always just be removed in favor of some pallets in the upper corridors too.
Garden of joy is one of those maps you're most likely escape on, but I refuse to say it is survivor sided because as is the trend nowdays with this game(specifically people playing killer) they continuously make misplays then blame xyz instead of learning and doing better... Garden of joy is an example, not denying its a strong map as survivor but killers who ACTUALLY take the time to improve and get better stomp survivors on the map... Unlike Badham which is actually survivor sided making even experience amazing killer mains look like babies.
That's actually a good point, though I do think that this applies to all maps. Survivor-siding can always be worked around by killers, I just personally think that it's regressive map design considering that the game isn't oriented toward them inherently, y'know?
@@SAMUSUMA well that's my point really, the tired argument of calling things x sided because people don't like the map, it's not helpful and for the most part it's disingenuous. Badham is one of the only maps I'd actually say is strong for survivor without a shadow of doubt
Best 5 Maps: #1 McMillan #2 Autohaven #3 Coldwind Farm #4 Crotus #5 Actually only 4 maps are worth mentioning on this category. Basically those are the only decent and fair maps. Worst 5 Maps #1 Alien map #2 RPD #3 Saloon (its not overhated, its rather just a terrible map ;)) #4 Hawkins #5 Ormond, Borgo, The Game, Lerys, Haddonfield
@@SAMUSUMA Of course MM is my #1 and everyones favourite, just like Auto and Farm maps. They are easily the most ballanced and most dynamic maps. All 3 are the golden standard in comp aswell.
@@HoundZvsxEa I personally don't like Coldwind as much but yeah, MacMillan and Autohaven are basically unrivalled when it comes to gameplay and variety.
I will say I prefer the modern RPD and Haddondfield over their prior incarnations which were far more survivor focused, with the East and West Wings being one map and having that nightmare of a library for the former, whilst the latter had multiple god windows, terrible sight lines and seemed twice the size
That library was cursed as hell. First it became a spot where you couldn’t hook survivors at all and then after they fixed that it became a spot where it was impossible to do a hook save
one of my friends has literally begged for me to get it so I might actually play it soon, it actually looks a lot like the kind of thing I've been looking for
tbh i was overexaggerating that one just to make a point, i rarely do it and if i do it's because my team are that incompetent or i'm just not enjoying it (which just happens on those maps a lot). the only times i regularly dc are when I'm against trickster or skull merchant.

Yeah the previous renditions of both were MISERABLE, 2/10 maps at best...
Would recommend playing Resident Evil 2 remake.

Honestly agree with you, though personally I hate swamp and crotus pen the most
