Yep, unfortunately the narrative is gonna continue to make it seem like he’s the problem. Truth is though if they’re going to effectively turn him into a spot up shooter, there are others on the roster that should be on the court since they’ll play better defense. They need D’lo to be their offensive engine at times. But he’s just standing there for a lot of the action it seems. Weird move imo especially since D’lo kills drop coverage.
I think you might of missed some defensive coverages he missed. I can remember one where they threw the ball to Jokic in the post. Then they doubled and Dlo was supposed to rotate to the shooter that passed the ball to jokic and was hella late on the rotation.
this was specifically about those 2 runs in which he wasn't involved in anything at all that ballooned his negative plus minus but i remember the play you are talking about dennis and kcp were in positions that made the coverage a lil less obvious than a full scale rotation from dlo because it didn't start with an entry pass from the wing kcp wasn't the strong side shooter at the beginning of the possession, he was on the other side of the court, and like 5 feet behind the 3 point line, but he floated over there as dennis was "engaging" jokic as the dig man kcp continued to hop to the wing just as dennis committed to the double and dlo didn't get there fast enough, but he was essentially splitting the difference between 2 on the weakside until they actually committed to the double because dennis and kcp were very far apart when the one pass away shooter made the entry pass and stayed on that side of the floor, and they committed to the double quicker he ran that coverage just fine
@@anpherknee Thank you for explaining I was thinking that he was probably splitting the difference between the two because if he had committed to one of the shooters jokic would have passed it to the open one or the one pass away shooter would have got it and swung it to the other shooter.
