What I'm not sure about is why not use GPUs or CPUs by themselves to do the mining? You can overclock them and it would be much more money efficient it would run on one single machine, also I'm certain they'd wear down much slower

Yea taxes are going to be different for everyone based on their tax bracket and jurisdiction. I try to include all relevant ongoing costs to run the devices (electric, hosting costs, etc). Just trying to give people a ballpark estimate on how much they will currently earn gross and net for each device/project.
