- Waterfall suburb the oldest suburb in Harare Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 Waterfalls is a residential suburb in the southern region of Harare, Zimbabwe and falls under Harare Ward 23 District. Waterfalls neighbourhoods include Ardbennie, Cheviot, Derbyshire, Grobbie Park, Houghton Park, Induna Park, Mainway Meadows, Malvern, Midlands, Parktown, Prospect, Shortstone and Uplands. Went to Frank Johnson Primary School and lived in Lilian Road that leads to Zindoga.Waterfalls was named so because of the waterfall which is behind that district office you were at.We used to go and play there as well as celebrate Christmas.Good memories,thanks for that.
I stayed in uplands from 79 to 2000,those little shops broke my heart things looks so run down and tired no maintenance what a shame.glad something is been done about the roads .thanks a million for taking us on this journey.
they are falls between Houghton Park and Waterfalls that is why it was called Watefalls and Houghton Park is a small part of Waterfalls

How i wish City of Harare would be busy resufacing all high density sububs roads whilst the government is busy with all major roads under emegency rehabilitation. but we will get there. I love houghton Park close to were J Masters was i once lived there in 2001-2002 it was good medium subub.

That road approaching Simon Mazorodze has been like that( pot holes) since 2023 when I was there.
Nostalgia. Grew up in this area.Attended both Frank Johnson and Lord Malvern schools. Lived just off Godfrey Ave by the church (Southside paAwana), days of vana Lifa, Voster, Prosper and et al.I love this place

Those names ring a bell from the 90s I remember I used to live in uplands went to PE used to hang around lord malvern too .
Thank you… someone Finally did a video on waterfalls... I have so many memories growing up in parktown 4th Avenue... Padoor pedu chaipo 😭😭 grew up there in the early - mid 90s, The whole street had mostly white people living there before most moved
parktown shops -ok car park full, mac’s, POSB, post office, kwa Ivirnes, the flats by parktown, my church,that waterfalls district office there is play area behind and a library... And the name came from the waterfalls that runs into lake Mukuvisi near Houghton park

They is a waterfalls across Mukuvisi river which you easily see when coming from Park town shops,going towards Houghton park. That's were Waterfalls suburb got its name.

Moved to Waterfalls in 1981. Was decent and spacious but not affluent
