btw why would you play that? Not just against Eric but as an opening in general, What are great threats if white didn't play the right set of moves? (I'm not really that good at chess, guess you could say i'm still learning lol.)
@@nishiharach. honestly it depends on your play style and the time control - I'm a fairly agressive blitz player (rated about 1900 on chess.com) and a lot of the time threats are very useful to eat up your opponent's time, and there's always the possibility they won't find the right move. It's not without its risks though, so if you're planning on playing an agressive gambit you really need to know how to get to a solid position if they refute it correctly. Playing aggressively is definitely a lot of fun though :)
@@nishiharach. In the games I've played with it, I haven't ever seen this refutation and the most common line I come across after 4...Qh4 is 5. Nxc6 Qxe4+ 6. Qe2 Qxe2+ 7. Bxe2 dxc6, which is a middle/endgame position where black is a pawn up with decent position. There are also a lot of ways that white can play moves that look natural but are actually blunders. Definitely not a solid opening, but works if your opponent doesn't know the refutation.
I actually stared at the bannana thumbnail for like 10 minutes trying to figure out where u got that from but u actually took it your self, I'm amazed.
Stock images have so many weird pictures, but this could possibly be too weird - even for them. Btw: it's fun to just look at weird stock photos, and their word titles.
Whenever Eric starts his statement with " Oh, no my...", I will know something amazing is coming ahead. Unless I'm playing with him. Then, press the resign button.
ripe bannana, some oats maybe, peanuts, strawberries(frozen=awesome) and protein powder but its good(maybe better)without it. Its an awesome recipe i found as a weight gainer shake but thats really only if you add protein powder.
I also take deep breaths and drink tea to tackle worries and anxiety. Do you practice anything else @Eric Rosen? Good night sleep is another key factor for me to have mental clarity and for dealing properly with worries.
8:51 isn't it mate in 2? Qxf7 Ng7(only move) fxg6# Edit: I only see the premove fxg6 before commenting the unedited version. Well, he mated in 2 but reversed order of what I commented earlier lol
I thought that was a professional stock photo when I saw the thumbnail and thought to myself "wow you really can find anything on stock sites" holy shit. Nice one man. You should definitely get prints of that pic, its really good.
I'm a very low rated player and I have fall for this so many times, but thanks to trick openings like this I've learned how to counter a couple of them. It's absolutely satisfactory when the opponent stops autopiloting and the clock ticks like 1 or 2 minutes and you imagine the face they are doing now. Off course I'm still falling to some gambits when I'm not paying enough attention.
If you play someone 1100 Elo higher than you and they hang an obvious King Rook fork your spider sense should be going off. Probably a good idea to check for forcing moves available on their next turn or two :)
Every time Eric speaks, I feel so at ease, despite him sounding like the world's biggest memer. I want like a compilation of the things Eric Rosen says
Qh4 is a thematic move for black in the scotch, a really nice line is 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Nxd4 Bc5 5. Nxc6 bxc6 6.Bd3 Qh4 (attacking f2) 7.Qe2 Nf6 8.h3 (preventing nasty Ng4 ideas) d5!!, explore further for crazy possibilities
Absolutely incredible video yet again Eric, didn't know you took that fantastic photo yourself. Pretty please upload more games to youtube as i dont have much time to watch live. :)
What's a clear refutation of the Fried Fox opening? (1.f3 2. Kf2 whatever black plays except the obvious Bc5+ which you counter with e3 and then 3. Kf2 anyways?)
Pretty famous game featuring Qh4 in the scotch NN, H. Bird, England 1850 Black loses the rook to Nc7 like Eric goes for here, black plays Kd8, and brings his remaining rook to e8, and puts a knight on e4
In case some of y'all are wondering, if black plays 7... Ba5 I am pretty sure white can just take the pawn on c7 anyway, because the bishop is overloaded (has to keep the knight on c3 pinned that is attacking the black queen)
It was a pleasure to be absolutely crushed in this game. Thanks Eric!
Also I promise I had your stream muted, and was just playing badly...

When Eric says "oh no, my rook" you know it's time to resign

Unless he’s playing against GMs, that means he’s really dropping the piece and is gonna lose the game.
@@vit9480 hardly ever happens. hahah
I'm almost to the point of pausing the video immediately upon hearing that phrase, seeing if I can even fathom what's about to happen.
@@LFSPharaoh Everyone is just as clueless as you are! Haha. More than moving the piece, it's the phrase that grabs my attention! Love Eric!
@@vit9480 Well, he doesn't normally drop pieces when playing against GM's. Not in serious games, anyway.

I can’t believe you watch chess. Cool.
I'm waiting for the day when Eric goes "Oh no, my king!"
Amd then calmly parries a check with a checkmate.
"There's so much beauty in Black's sadness." Some of your lines are funnier the second time round when I don't have the distraction of chat.
The eminently quotable Eric Rosen. I don't know where he finds these phrases
This channel deserves more views and more subs. Love to watch your videos.

Such a good thumbnail "Banana one", I noticed it immediately before you started talking about it. But it was on another video I think.
Love your videos. Consistently awesome chess and commentary. Thanks for the content!
The banana and king thumbnail was a seriously good picture btw
I think in a lot of these Eric knows the opponent might be watching his streams and he takes a fun edge out of it
3:45 That stare from Eric

Eric could traumatize my sad banana
Please do make that video on the Scotch you mentioned!
Eric's "Oh no, my..." is his version of an anime protagonist's theme song starting to play
Welp, time to prepare for this line every other game
"I traumatized this banana earlier... it's brown" Eric Rosen 2020
I would take that photo on a tshirt any day
This was so incredibly youtube worthy!
The answer to bruised bananas is banana bread.
What goes around bananas around🎉
I love you Eric but the look you have the camera at 3:45 is going to give me nightmares tonight
I believe you looked into my soul
Such a great actor
Eric be like : Oh no my Rook!!! Anyway..
3:45 scary look at the camera :D
Where is the banana-hitting-king wallpaper download??
listen to the intro while eyes closed
btw Ba5 looses to taking on c7 anyway since the Bishop has to keep pinning the Knight
Oh no my rook , you know what's coming.
Did you ever make that video? People have been playing the Scotch against me nonstop lately and I can't find any good study for the different lines.
Oh no my rook!!! I had to see that XD..
Funny to hear chess players using "Jebaited" a term originating in the fighting game community

superhigh speed, like 20 images per second xD. That is slower then normal video haha (yes I know it's different still sounds fun)
Today i witnessed Eric's evil side, life will never be the same.
To better not waste that banana

Staying up at 2:30 am just to watch this
That's a repulsively abusive thing to do to your body. Congratulations!
Eric is becoming an elite troll these days. His time on Twitch has corrupted him in the best possible way.
He took that photo himself and yet I thought it was just a stock photo taken from the internet
tf i got banana like that on my desk
Yikes I too would've gotten jabaited by Ba3+
so were the posters ever printed?
Wow, he took that photo himself? Impressive
Right? I was wondering if it was stock footage or something, but I didn't think you would be able to find a picture like that online.
He is an amateur photographer. He showed his albums couple days ago.
He said in the description that it took him 100+ tries
Paul Morphy you gotta love that he went thru the trouble of 100+ tries just for a thumbnail 😂
He's a photographer and graphic designer when he's not playing chess lol.
His acting is getting better.
Obviously the compensation is that the banana throwing suffers ....
