Gypsy Rose is doing so much better now that she is away from her abusive mother. Do I condone what happened to her mother? No. Do I blame her for taking her life back? No.

Gypsy Rose has a parole hearing in December 2023. Let's hope that she gets parole! If I can remember to update this comment, I'll do so, no matter the results. She really was dealt a crappy hand. She'll be 32 (if my math is correct) by the time her parole hearing comes around. If she gets parole, she's still young enough to have a life after this. Fingers crossed, guys!
Her mother horrifically abused and brutally threatened her too keep her trapped and the neighbors, doctors and authorities failed horrendously to protect her! The fact that they punished her for taking the only way out she had because they couldn’t give her a better one is a travesty! After all she’s been through punishment seems moot and the fact that she only did it to escape the punishment for crimes she hadn’t yet committed make it even more awful! This would be one case where I’d consider an insanity deal where she goes to a comfortable psychiatric facility where she’s evaluated, given therapy sessions and maybe even undergoes some treatments until she’s ready to rejoin society to be more appropriate then prison!
Agreed. CPS and the Justice system failed her when DeeDee was alive. This is the the Justice system’s asinine way of covering up their failure

The real tragic part of story 2, the Doctor’s didn’t save Gypsy Rose, the police didn’t save Gypsy Rose and the neighbors didn’t save Gypsy Rose from the woman who drugged, abused, chained up, and brutally threatened her! She had to turn to a violent criminal with a pedophilic attraction to her to get help… And after everyone failed this girl so horrifically they decided to top it off by taking another 10 years of her life for breaking free the only way she could when no one else was willing to save her and the only guy who was willing to save her will never get out of prison. So the system was powerless to save her but absolutely thrilled to punish her for finding someone outside the system to do it! That’s the most depressing part to me!

#7 when one roommate can’t respect your privacy, there’s no reason you should respect theirs. This could’ve all been avoided with communication but noooo. Lucy started this and she gets to deal with the consequences. If I was wearing a towel and some rando walked in, he would’ve gotten maced. I’ve had one for a few years and thankfully haven’t used it yet

everyone talks about Gypsy being a victim but what about Nick? what they fail to mention is that there was talk of Nick trying to convince Gyspy to just run away with him instead of offing her mom but Gypsy is the one who kept insisting and practically manipulated Nick to do it. Nick is clearly not right in the head but nobody talks about it. Gypsy was abused and needed help yes, but of course she would get time, she STILL committed a crime. it's only 10 years. men who were in her shoes have gotten life as well even though they're "innocent". the reality nobody wants to accept is that Gypsy used her own moms manipulative tactics on Nick, convinced him he was doing the right thing, and in the end she screwed him over by turning her back on him. if she really wanted to get out, she could've just told the truth that she told Nick to do it instead of pleading against him. she's not 100% innocent. neither of them are just incase someone tries to say I'm only siding with Nick.
Finally someone understands. I don’t get why she got 10 years and Nick life in prison when Gypsy literally manipulated him
@shilohmorap3548 it's because she's painted as a helpless victim. And no I'm not victim blaming, she definitely went through some sh1t, but she learned how to manipulate from her mom, and she used Nick till the end and basically put the blame on him. Idk how anybody can see that and think she's 100% innocent. He was already going through a lot mentally as well but nobody talked about that
yeah I felt bad for Nick too, he is the one that saved her from her abusive mom. Is there a way she could help him once she is out of prison?

I think Gypsy Rose was given an unfair deal. She was abused in countless ways and she had no one else but her lying, scheming and heartless mother. As far as I'm concerned she helped rid the world of an evil woman. I hope she has found peace and gets out of prison soon to finally start her life and live the way she wants.
That can't be possible--Gypsy walking to her neighbor's house. That would've proved the paralysis was a lie, as every other sickness Dee Dee mentioned.
If you read the story or hear peoples testimonies, it shows how blind people were. They thought they were giving a struggling mother with a sick child a pass but they were enabling an abuser.
Her mother was suffering from munchausen by proxy, or as it is now called Facticious Disorder.
People who have that are charismatic and great liars. Think Jim Jones.

@@jakebastian6726 I know you knew that, I'm just saying that she could have spun it to work in her favor. Like she somehow miraculously walked, but the next day she got worse because of the effort involved in taking those steps.

Dee Dee was such a coward. Not just for undermining her own daughter, but because she still called for her help when she was being stabbed. It’s perfectly natural to call for your housemate when you’re being attacked, but to do so after _you_ hurt said housemate? Dee Dee expected Gypsy to come to your aid, after all the abuse? Pa-THETIC. Dee Dee deserved her fate

the first story is actually a true crime story
If they’re going to kill/hurt someone because you didn’t go somewhere where there are no witnesses at their command they aren’t going to let them live because you did… and now they won’t let you live either. If they don’t have the loved one and were bluffing or the loved one was in on it or is it then there’s no one at risk but now you’re about to be killed or hurt for nothing.
Call the cops make a report and best case scenario everyone involved gets taken into custody. Worst case scenario the person they threatens to have does but they would’ve been killed anyway and either way you survive but you wouldn’t have had you listened.
John killed his whole family cause he didn’t want to find another job to take care of his family . Wth 🤦🏾♂️
And he refused to go on welfare, cuz according to List doing so would be disgraceful and in violation of his father's strict teachings.
