Also, they are grinded into a concave shape that gives us two "chin bones". The chin bones help to split the wood. The choice of axe is much about what you have the strength to handle. The combination of speed and weight is what determines the splitting result, so choose an axe the you can manage to put speed into. This is our largest axe. It is called a sledge axe. It has a hardened neck so it can be used to drive a wood chisel. The other models should not be used on the wood chisel as this might damage the axe head.
