I always enjoy your videos my brother, love seeing the weather, the bay the views, and the energy you have, im going to try to get out this Saturday, it's been a long time my brotha, but your videos keep me motivated to get out :-)
Another nice video, Thuy. Just a reminder - make sure to measure halibut with their mouth closed. Don't want you to get a fine for an accidentally short fish.
Thanks for your information about measuring halibuts. Really appreciate it. I have my way of measuring halibuts by look at the upper jaw of the halibut without make the mouth closed and the fish will be 1/4" bigger than the measurement and I will be safe later with game Warden.
No chum needed. You just troll around to find them. The best bait is pile worm. You can use blood worm, a piece of shrimp or squids works well too. Where to troll for them? They can be anywhere in the Bay, but I usually find them in oyster point, Hunter point, the Alameda rock wall on the in coming high tide. They are bear bait for halibuts and stripers. Good luck and thank you for watching.
Hi Thuy, have fun and Happy fishing 🐟🐟🐟
😊
👍👍👍
Thanks
Great stuff
Thanks
Nice video, Thuy! Looks like a fun and great day on the water!
Yes, thanks
When Thuy Gaffes, the fish has no chance. When Vy gaffes, the fish makes fun of him… lmao. Love the video and tons of action.
Lol. Vy missgaffed because the gaff was dull. I triangly sharped the gaff for him after the trip.
Your fun.
I coming out.
Lol. Go 🎣
@@Fishing247 okay.
Great video thank you what size sinker are you using
Thanks for watching. I used 10 to 16 ounces for trolling halibuts and 2-3 inches for jacksmelts.
Sorry I meant what size sinker when catching live bait
2 to 3 ounces for jacksmelts
@@Fishing247 thank you

did you put out any chum for jack smelt? how do you know where they are?

@@Fishing247 and you see action on the surface and move in or they just hit while you troll, with no visibility?
@@stephenrothman6058 they just hit on the troll. You catch them more on trolling. They can see your baits
Are you trolling live bait, while trolling for the Jack Smelt
I used frozen baits until I caught the jacksmelts and used the jacksmelts to troll.
Ok thanks
Yep, I woulda been content just to catch the bait! 😂🥲😅
