@@dantegabrielittesor4483 Well, I’m not Catholic either and am completely/unchangeably atheist, having no plans on becoming a believer… but I am genuinely happy for all Catholics today. I have a good feeling that Pope Leo XIV is going to be one of the greats and will continue the work of his predecessor.
It’s just good to know there’s one high profile person in the world that strives to help the poor, ill, disenfranchised, etc… even if all of it was in message only (which it’s not just words). Congrats Dante! 🎉❤

Robert is an incredible human being. I had the opportunity to go to confession a couple of times and to be confirmed by him. Also, on a couple of occasions, I had the chance to talk with him a little while i was in school (i'm from chiclayo, my school is from the augustinian congregation). I cried like a baby when i heard the news. And after 6 years, I went to my closest chapel. God works in amazing ways!

I was worried for him. Worried that he wouldn't be able to stand up to the Tsunami of corruption which will try to take advantage of him and peddle their ungodly agendas through the Catholic Church.
Looks like even his brother is aware of the situation, which means he was acutely aware of this when he accepted the position. Hence, I am more confident in his ability to take a stand and not be compromised.
Plus, his brother's general demeanor and the content of speech does make him seem like a very humble, and kind person. I am assuming he's like that as well.

When John XXIII was named one of his sisters was shopping, and she heard over the radio who had been named, and nearly passed out. Another shopper asked her what was wrong and she just said, "my brother is the Pope." And then she went home, because she needed privacy. It must always come as a shock to the family.

His extended time in Peru serving the poor, as Christ chose him to do, probably shaped how he views the world and what he is all about today.

Sounds like he is very proud of his brother. Very down to earth, humble and seems to be in shock. Prayers for his family and our new American Pope.

This has been a tough yr. He has eased my heart so much. There is still good in the world. I also just told my daughter I don't think I will live to see an American Pope. The Lord heard my prayers.

I've been hearing more sirens here in Chicago this afternoon, so people must be misbehaving already.

It’s amazing how God works. Someone prophesied when he was a child, that he would be the Pope. This country needs a leader that represents love and compassion. As far as I’m concerned, Pope Leo is who I will look to as my leader of this nation.
