Great deep dive. Even though I must have watched about 10000 Polestar videos on YT this is the first one that shows all the buttons, settings and features. Great job.
my girlfriend’s dad has one of these cars. I absolutely love it!! Tesla fans will hate me for saying this, but I think this is a lot prettier than a lot of the Teslas. Greetings from Brighton in the UK.
My next - and subsequent - autos will be BEVs. However, forgive my refusing to purchase one manufactured in the PRC. (No need to flame me, just 'cause I express my opinion, folks.)
Thank you for watching & commenting! Once I can get a vehicle that can haul all my gear / has a range of 700 km and is not ridiculously expensive, I too will change to a BEV van. I guess Polestar just cannot afford to have lousy manufacturing. I trust that - even it being PRC based - there is a solid quality control and after sales service.
Great video. I'm on the fence right now about the Polestar 2. Love the looks, performance and the Google integration but still no Apple Car Play and I wish it would charge faster. I know these are just an update away but....
I still say getting in and drive away automatically is dangerous and a risk for children who grab the key or just get in in range. Polestar /Google please add feature for pin to start so those worried about children or in high risk areas of theft have to enter the pin before car is drivable
while it doesn’t have a button, you still need to hit the brake pedal in order to select the D gear. This is impossible to do for a child that is young enough to do that kind of thing. plus you still need the key to be very close or the phone to be put on the wireless charging port. it’s not very different than any other car that does have a start button. i believe it’s pretty safe. Of course you need to be very careful with your keys and your child. a child should never have your car keys nor be in the driving seat

Jean-Claude? (you do actually sound like him in his younger years) Nice car, I'm expecting mine in september :'-( Wish I could fast forward on WARP speed.
I like that it's Google but Tesla Ui did so much more. Google apps are very limited in this Ui and it doesn't even have a web browser. Can it record with the cameras for an accident or when you leave your car alone for security?
I have no idea! I haven’t driven Tesla enough to compare. I was already really impressed by this Google integration. But I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t connect it to my Google Home.
Nice video but I see nothing unique about the technology in this car, Tesla's Model S did all this nearly 10 years ago. I guess the build quality is good in this car?
I don't have a lot of experience with Tesla and I can imagine that their own system is very good as well, trigger for me was the Google based system because we also have Google Home. But the system integration between car & home isn't there yet. Yes, build quality of the interior looks better than that of a Tesla Model 3 indeed. Thanks for your comment!
I mean, most automotive manufacturers did these things 10 years ago and is nothing unique for Tesla either if there's nothing specific you're talking about?
Hi Taxen, thanks for watching & your comment! These videos are about showing what the car drives like, what the UI looks like, the system interactions, the sounds it makes. I didn’t ever have the feeling a car like this existed 10 years ago, but that’s just me. Any car in particular you have in mind?
@@KaneTheMessiah The Model S and BMW i3 pretty much did what the Polestar 2 is doing now. Although today, the i3's max charge rate and battery range hasn't developed much since 2013, but the technologies are still innovative. Voice commands, autonomous driving features, self parking adaptive cruise control, smartphone connections, navigation finding public chargers etc (Tesla autonomous driving has animation).. All was introduced years ago.. I'm curious to know what innovations the Polestar 2 is bringing to the table.. A Tesla can condition the battery automatically during a road trip in anticipating of a SuperCharging session so you can get the most out of charging the battery.. The software is able to guide you along the shortest route according to battery percentage, it will show you how much battery percentage you should have left before you reach that specific SuperCharger.. And of course Teslas and the i3's are very efficient...
@@mamadouaziza2536 Yes, those technologies were introduced years ago, so what? They should not be implemented then? Not every car brings something new to the table and I don't see your point, sorry. If you're comparing Tesla to a Polestar 2, PS2 has 84 LED matrix headlight which Teslas doesn't have functional yet but yes, matrix headlights were introduced by Audi years ago as well. PS2 is the first commercial car with Android Automotive OS (not to be confused with Android Auto). PS2 also has a pop up hood for pedestrian head impact and as far as I know they're the first EV with inner airbags between the seats.
