Back when they built them good. That 292 six was a geat engine, almost bullet proof. I knew a guy that drove one of these 65 C60 with a cargo box on it for a local/regional delivery company. Had the 292 and 4 + 2, when his company got him a new truck in the late 70's he told me that the old 65 had almost 300,000 miles and had never had anything done to it other than regular servicing. That was pretty darn good for a 6 cylinder gas in a heavy truck!

Wow, I haven't seen one of those in years! My uncle had a 60 series with the short hood like that one. Originally it had a 327 with a 4x2, after the 327 wore out, he and my Dad dropped a 402 in it. They put dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers on it. Empty, it would spin the tires on bare pavement when taking off from a stop light. It had the "Turtle shell" ahead of the gearshift to get into the distributor cap. Lots of fun, many memories.

Beauty of an old relic. Had one like that at our sawmill for years. Certainly wasn’t in this good of condition after hauling thousands of logs home from the woods and many tons of sawn lumber and blocking to the broker’s yard.
    Cheers!

Nice job on the clean up ! & getting it back in the building without tearing anything up ! Is that a 292 C.I. I can't believe that it only has a inline 6 banger ! Thanks for the video.

Cool old Chevy. Wouldn't be too hard to put a V8 in it.

$3,000? The auctions are barely getting $1000 ones that are in great condition.
      It's a cool truck, but I couldn't get anywhere near $3,000......
Are you willing to take somewhere closer to $1000? I might be interested then.

Actually it is a L60. C series had a longer hood and narrower fenders and lower cab height. L series had shorter hood, steps on the fenders, and taller cab. We had a C60 and C70 of that vintage and i knew ours did not look like this one. I had to do some research to see what this truck was. Found an original 1963 brochure on the net. What did we do without google.
