I'm also so sentimental about yarn, my solutions was to crochet little flowers or squares of each yarn I was too attached to and stick them in my scrapbook. that was I have a small memory of the yarn and I can use up/sell the rest 😅 I thought I was the only one who gets like this! it's so hard to get rid of certain things ❤
also regarding getting rid of your beginner knit/crochet pieces, I struggle with that so much!! for the stuff I have gotten rid of I photographed from all angles first so I have a good memory of them, but I still have a lot that I just can't get rid of. I'm thinking of turning them into a blanket that I will definitely use
I did this just a couple of months ago: I kept the black and white thread as well as the ones that match the fabric I have. Why did I have 2 spools of lime green thread? lol For yarn, I attached notes about what I will make with it and the magazine (I have a lot of patterns too😅) that goes with the yarn in a bag or box. The rest get to be decor until an answer comes up I guess. I even went through my books and will be leaving the ones I don't plan on reading again at my local free library.
That's so smart about attaching notes to the yarn I want to try that! Also have decluttered my books especially after getting a kindle! The free libraries are the best for bringing books and giving them to a good home :)

Wait this is so wholesome & I love this idea! a little swatch scrapbook
you could use the sheets that have sentimental value as a lining to a jacket, that way it hugs you every time you put it on ✨
AWH that is so smart!!! Definitely want to try this out
I use the cardboard for comic books and wrap all my fabric. Look on line. You can see everything you have at a glance!
I’m gonna have to try that! so smart
This was a great reminder to do the same. Struggling over feeling sentimental over stuff that I've made too. Ready for a reset
I'm glad this inspired you! I always feel better after I declutter :) but also understand feeling overwhelmed its such a struggle
This makes me want to live near a second hand craft store!! I think I would eventually only get stuff I'll actually use:)
It's literally the best!! I cant believe that they aren't more popular
The flowery fabrics makes me think of 60s/70s patterns
right!! especially the colors
