    Elephant Butte, NM about 4348 ft at 30% full now. My restored 1992 20’1’’ Champion with a brand new Yamaha 250 VMAX SHO (2.3hrs into break in) pops right onto plane. Nice hole shot at altitude and I’m easing it up. That Atlas Jack-plate is awesome too. I better hold on when I go to Texas or Florida. Got tired of waiting for Merc to delivery their 250 V8. Waited over a year. Waited 2 weeks for the Yammy. Thanks for the video.

    Thanks for the video series. This confirms my biggest suspicion that my batteries are affecting my holeshot. I have a Falcon 195 with 4 heavy ass batteries in the back. Add in a full livewell and my heavy self and the holeshot suffers. The boat was really made for 3 batteries, but i guess I wanted those 36 volts.

    THANK YOU for not only this video but all of the other videos you have done. I have picked up information here and there that have answered many of my questions that I could/would have figured out on my own through trial and error and possibly some expensive repairs! A video that I would like to see in the future would be getting on pad in shallow water utilizing the hydraulic jackplate. I have an idea of how to do it but there has to be some do's and don't's regarding. It wouldn't necessarily have to be an "on the water" demonstration...just talk us through it. Thanks again!

    Great info. I currently have a 2016 Pantera II. As you know, its a rocket out the hole. I had a 2014 Eyra and your hole shot is MUCH faster. I was propped to high was one of my issues, Also, I didnt lower the JP all the way down. Great info for current Eyra owners. I hope to be in another Eyra in the future. Thanks for all the videos you do. Taking time out from your busy schedule and family to shoot these is a big help. Especially to new boat owners.

    I love this series. I expect it's slated to be covered eventually but I'd like to see a video on countering chine walking. My new boat tends to do it around 65-67 mph, which frankly, gives me great deal of pucker factor at those speeds. I usually just trim down but I can't help but to think I'm missing other (perhaps better) options.

    I discovered I have been a little confused/misled/misunderstood I guess, thought weight in the back was good just in general. This cleared things up very well, thanks. Always makes me miss SML too. Nice job in the opener BTW!!
    So I've heard "people" say to put basket balls in the jack plate to help with hole shot, to add a little flotation I guess - any truth to that or just snake oil? Seems like a bandaid for other problems. When you asked for comments, it came to mind as something I'd seen mentioned before.

    I see you read comments so one question please. I have a Cougar FTD with a 250 Suzuki. So no Mercury. I can get a satisfactory hole shot with full gas, 2 big guys, full lw, 4 lead batteries and 2 PP. BUT...after trying various jackplate levels, I observe getting my best hole shot with jack plate up around 3 inches or higher. I saw you recommended jp all the way down at tackoff. Is this just in my head is my rig a different situation with my engine and boat setup? I totally realize you're giving field proven accurate info and not questioning your advice whatsoever. I have a different outboard and boat or course.

    I have a power pole just one on the driver side. I’m new to boating and first bass boat. When I try to take off it feels like the boat really unstable and leans to the right. How do I correct this because does freak me out a little

    • @JohnCrews
      @JohnCrews  3 года назад

      It could be because of your weight if you are alone. Once the boat tilts, the gas in the gas tank will make it worse. It’s nothing to worry about. You can move your gear to the opposite site to counter

    • @DLyshon24
      @DLyshon24 3 года назад

      @@JohnCrews I'm thinking about getting rid of the power pole because i Have a minn Kota Ultrex coming and using that for anchoring. Allow me to take some weight off the driver side of the boat. I only use it for putting on trailer and off trailer.
