- The Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are pretty much the same as their predecessors, but with wireless charging capability, rear dual-camera system (on the iPhone 8 Plus) and Apple's new powerful A11 Bionic processor. Though the iPhone 8 basically has the same software as Apple’s new iPhone X, it lacks the the futuristic design of the iPhone X and Apple’s new Face ID. The iPhone 8 will start at $699 for a 64GB model, while the 8 Plus will start at $799 for 64GB of storage. Really? You liked it? I found it a pinch too disingenuous with the excessive b-roll panning, the awkward/unatural increase in pitches of the narrator's otherwise very monotone voice, and the banal technique of placing other objects behind and/or around the main subjects of the camera. This type of contemporary, modern, silicon valley-esque directing is worn out, in my opinion. The only person that still does it well is Marques Brownley, but even his execution is starting to become quite apparent. For me, the illusion only works so long as the cinematography can be appreciated but not identified.

Went from an s8 to 8plus and it feels so much better .... the screen ration is way better. Haptic feedback is awesome. Software too. Tried the X for some time but i just didnt like the Face ID and gestures .... to digitalized.

Darcer's Tech Good point! I really don't know what Apple is going to do about the iPad and those accessories. For those devices, there is less reason to stick to Lightning than with the iPhone but at the same time more reason to adopt USB-C instead of wireless.

Aesthetically, the iPhone 8 looks better than the iPhone 10 (especially the gold/sand colored one), with a more justifiable price, and all of the same internals. I’d rather save money, keep Touch ID, and have extra bezel, than lose a home button, spends hundreds extra, and have a less aesthetically pleasing device.

This is my personal opinion, but I love the design of the 8, as he keeps reiterating that it's not the best design I really like the sleek modern design, especially the gold having a contrast between the aluminium frame then the blush pink/ cream back. That is my opinion as he said he doesn't like it but I like how they have refined the phone giving it extra details like the aluminium around the 8 camera lenses to make it pop, whether it is better than the Samsung I can't say until I get to have a look at this beautiful phone

No, it only comes with the regular charger cable, like every other iPhone. You need to buy the wireless pad separately. However you do not need to buy an apple one other brands have a charger pad compatible for iPhones and cheaper.

Why even consider upgrading after one year? That's just a waste, rarely is there any difference in features on a phone after only 1 year. The 8 is just a 7s.

Depends on your contract / plan. I get a new one each year for subsidized price. The 8 is $250US this year. I can sell the old one for more than the new one costs. New phone for less than $0. Actually make a slight profit each time. All depends on the individual situation though.

The iPhone 8 plus is very fast and is getting faster with every update. I own the one since mid November and it’s a joy to use. Camera is good, audio is awesome, battery is good, software is delightful as usual. I can recommend it to everybody
iPhone 4 was the nicest design to date, stainless steel band was hard to damage and looked amazing, it was heavy and almost felt like a piece of jewlery. iPhone 5 as well. That's the same reason I still rock my iPhone 5s...

While I understand the X is better than the VIII, and while those bezels on the VIII NEED to go, the VIII is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the X in my opinion.

QUESTION: I've been an Android user for ages. I don't even know how an iPhone works. But I'm thinking about switching to Apple simply because Apple phones have access to a lot more app features, and also because I want a better camera (I have a Galaxy S7 rn).

Like, I've heard that you have to keep upgrading your iPhone because the old ones won't support lots of new apps and new app features. Is this true? Is the 8+ new enough that it will at least support DSCO?

Katsudori let me tell you, I have the 6s and stopped upgrading for almost 2 years because I didn’t want it to become slower, and during that time I did just fine. You don’t really have to upgrade... (btw I had to upgrade a few months ago because I got an Apple Watch and I was forced to, but my phone is still ok although I’m planning on changing)

I still have the 6( I got the 6 when the 7 came out, I didn’t like the 7 cuz the jack, and I got my phone when I was 12) so I ain’t gonna be the spoiled kid that asks their parents for a 1000 dollar phone so I’m here trying to save money for the beautiful iPhone 8🙂
