I just opened box and started reading the instructions...thought came to mind there would be someone "like you" who was generous enough to create this video. It was so so so helpful in saving me time. You are very much appreciated - - your videos are great.
I bought one earlier this year and I was very impressed with the power it handled my 1000 sqft lawn cut at 3 inches with no problem , only went over it once and I pulled out a lot of dead grass, I took the grass catcher off because otherwise it fills up too fast it's a lot more work to deal with, the grass looks bad afterwards but it grows back thicker and green after a few weeks.
Evening bud! I don't know you but just wanted to reach across the internet and let you know I appreciate the time you put into this video and I wish you nothing but the best. Cheers, from north Texas.
Thank you for the kind words. I have been so busy with everything else I haven't been able to start any other videos. Hopefully life will slow down and I can get a few more done!
@@JustAnotherAverageJoe-hx3en totally understand. I've been trying to finish my kitchen remodel for the last two months and I forget where the time goes!
Just put together the 16” model and hopping to give it a workout tomorrow on a very needed yard. Just wish the manufacture had installed the dethatcher and put the Scarifier in the box, which would be bigger and easier to store the smaller dethatcher when not installed, O’Well. Nice video with demo!!!
@@JustAnotherAverageJoe-hx3en used the dethatcher on a smaller section of property and got 3 yard waste bags worth off the section. Much easier than the hand tool and worked well for first outing and experience with such device. At moment should work well for its purpose.
I just got the battery powered version. It's great not having a cord to worry about, but the charge is only enough for one pass on my front yard, and I need to do both the dethatching and scarifying. I also wish the bag was much larger. Other than that, this thing is great - I highly recommend it!
If someone had the extra funds to spend it would be great to not have a cord to tug around but no more than I plan on using it I can't complain about the cord. I enjoy tools that I can use the batteries in other items as well!
Thank you for this great review! I have this unit coming today and I will dethatch tomorrow. 50s/60s here in the northeast. Would you go straight to scarifier, or dethatch first then scarify?
@@JSVintage I would probably dethatch first and if you don’t like the results jump over to the scarify. When you scarify it’s going to pick up a whole lot more. In the south our growing season is coming to an end.
If 60 % of my front yard looks dead, would it be better to scarifier it , then over seed? Or should I detach only then over seed? The ground seems pretty hard so I assumed I should scarifier it? PS: appreciate the great review
@@davecwatkins I don’t know what type of grass you have or what region in you are in? If you live in the North and have fescue, I would recommend scarifying it and overseed it. I have Bermuda and our season is coming to an end.
@@StrohmaniasFlyingCircus The bag does fill up fairly quickly but this dethatcher isn’t meant for a large yard. If I was doing more than 1/4 acre I might look at an alternative, unless I just wanted to dedicate 4 hours to it.
@@thall100k A lot of people don’t recommend using the detatcher on Bermuda because it can pull up the runners. The scarifier will pull up a lot more on each pass and gives a much more thorough cleaning.

I'm about to give mine a try. Watching your video has helped. My model is a little different, but it's the same concept. Thanks for sharing the video.

I bought one in spring time and it works great. No cord

I actually enjoyed using the scarifier but it was early in the season. I definitely agree using the dethatcher for summer! Thanks for the compliment!

No batteries on this one. You have to plug this one into 110V outlet.

This thing is sold out everywhere until June. I guess I’m stuck renting a gas powered one until then
Oh wow, hopefully they will get back in stock soon!

Yes, my yard is Bermuda. I have always had an issue with a late greening process but after detatching it for the first time it really helped!
Works fine. Need to change the name to EmptyBagNao!
