You understated the mind shattering potential of immersive portals
all white character on the normal layer except 2 pixels of black as the pupils, then all 25-75% opacity all black outer layer except for 3 pixels each eye left blank.
So how do you make the eyes

Basically it’s your brain trying to subconsciously fill in the blank spaces on a circle that isn’t actually there! That’s how most of these illusions work
the glass slab trick could be used for a milk jar in the kitchen for any builds

For the follow me eyes skin thing,,, this is just something I've known about as a fursuit maker lol. You can also do a similar thing but have the eye whites and pupils on the bottom layer, and the skin and hair on the top layer, its a bit more limited but it looks cool.

I’m not actually surprised that the skin watches you but the thing I’m surprised about is that it has cel shading (the outline)
(If you don’t understand, try making a wall made out of shulker boxes using a horizontal angle, making the top face you. Then you’ll notice light comes through in between the shulker boxes.)
