Alicia - your GIFT to this Earth ... and riders is HOW you explain SO FREAKING CLEARLY - what you are trying to teach! Many riders/ trainers can DO IT.. . they just can't explain it. You do both! 😊👏👏👏👍😊
Imagine if this was the first riding experience for people. How lucky to be set up with such great people and horses to start your riding career. Congratulations 🥳
Alicia is infectious. Can she bottle her energy and share it with us Riding Superstars ? 😅 Alicia you not only inspire me and fire me up to go out and ride my horse, I am able to ride him BETTER because of these videos. Thank you x million.
Very helpful! I’m riding again after more than 35 years. I’ve never owned a horse and only ride as a kid in the summers . Love your explanations and demos with the horse and rider ❤️ 🐎
I always love the comment sections on these videos. Everyone is so positive and allows for the journey. Non of that stereotypical equestrian judgement. Beautiful comment section! 😊
Two main insights for me - thumb on top of the whip keeps it in the right place and thinking taller rather than faster in preparation for the upward transition. Thanks Alicia, Toby, Bethany and Gee - terrific vicarious lesson.
Thank you for keeping the footage when she had a bit of struggle getting the canter. I struggle with this and hearing you walk her through it gave me so many ideas on how to ride through it with my horse. Great riding Bethany!
Yeaah? And the mismatched socks! Every little tiny thing, from the demeanor to the metaphors to the extra detailed care for the horses- I love EVERYTHING about Alicia!
That was EPIC!! Well done Bethany and the whole team!! So amazing to see the difference with how Gee goes as you talk Bethany through getting better connection👏🤩
Awesome Bethany & so generous Aicia to offer this. Such a great learning experience for me to watch and learn from an amateur on a trained school horse as well as watching Alicia ride.
This is such a beautiful video! I've come back again to see Bethany in her beginning stage & the tips, tuition about contact. What a spectacular opportunity for a young girl without her own horse!!! So commendable to give such a gift! I love your passion for her success Alicia! Giving her that success! This time, biggest pearle is to make the success achievable - don't expect perfection!!! Rhythm & the suppleness of the bend give her connection, & solve the positioning later!! Such a beautiful philosophy- allows her to own this fabulous success! ❤ your generosity of spirit, as always 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🐴🐎❤🙏💟💟
Well done!! 🤩🤩 Really brave to sit on such a horse and let all of us see it! And I love how Alicia is giving both the horse and Bethany pats and scratches 🤣
Very informative to see Alicia teach Bethany thru the basics.. pearls of wisdom. Thank you Bethany for sharing your lesson with us so brave!! Thank you Toby, Gee and Alicia 😊
This was incredible!!! The breakdown and seeing the results real-time! Phenomenal! How you have to keep talking to your horse constantly and that one you get them where you asked it maybe too much so you have to come back the other way…. And that is straightness!! Mind blown!! Love this keep them coming!!!!
I learned so much by watching this video. I wish I have an instructor like you here in Australia, so enthusiastic and your explanation in how to get a better connection or contact is so clear. You lit my desire to get better with my riding. At the moment I struggled to get a steady contact with my green mare.
So lovely to read this, you can have us as your coach, we have a team of riders that we help via our DMA program, this includes video reviews and special videos! If you would like to be a part of that email me at support@yourridingsuccess.com 💕
Alicia for this young lady never to have ridden or even own a horse wow wow wow , what an amazing job you , yourself and is it Toby and this young lady have done in two weeks... Is totally amazing and a damn well done job on all parts... Thank you for sharing all you're videos...
Bethany did such a good job! You could really see the changes! And thank you for letting us have a peek and taking us along to your lesson❤️This is so helpful! And to have a coach that cheers you on like that is just soooo beautiful to watch… you really start to cheer Bethany on together with Alicia 🥳 you go girl!!!
Its so good how you encourage the rider to do well! I've struggled...getting the wrong horse, having no one to encourage or advise me and losing confidence because of this! Please keep doing what your doing it's so helpful 😊
I love the way you explain things, the patience you have makes understanding your mistakes easier to fix. The desire you have to bless someone with the opportunity to ride a horse like Gee for a year with the chance to learn as well as get paid to be able to do it, is truly a blessing, something I’ve dreamed of all my life to be able to ride to the best that I can before I get to old to be able to o it. Thanks for what your doing.
Great video to go back to again! Great riding Bethany! Brilliant tuition & demonstration Alicia! Thanmyou for the tips about inside bend, outside bend, controlling the tempo & 2-point all the find the contact & optimise it! ❤ that! Thankyou 🐎🐎🐎💝🙏
I now wait with great anticipation for your weekly video. Love the tips and explaining of how what and why. Your energy is infectious and lifts me up with desire to get out and try with my horse. Thankyou Alicia and DMA I would be ecstatic to win this opportunity. 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Listening to you give a lesson and watching it, is so so helpful! I learn so much from the corrections you make. I thank Bethany because she allowed us to see the struggles and successes. We learn more from our mistakes than our successes!
such an amazing experience for Bethany. the generosity you and Toby have shown to all of us is so genuine and words cannot express how grateful i am to have found this group. the first thing i do in the morning is look to see if there is anything new happening and its always the last thing i do before going to bed. :)
Amazing video and it was good to see Bethany's perspective too. I love how you explained how to get that contact and for it to be shown progressively throughout the lesson, Bethany was amazing!!. 'Think taller not faster' was a really helpful point for me. DMA would be the most amazing opportunity ever!! 🐴💖 Thanks Alicia😊
Awesome!!! Can't get enough of you. I go to a riding centre and I learn more from you than there. The horse I love there is a six year old OTT. He is BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE HIM. We have a connection. I started riding again after 25 years. I'm 68. My body is doing it's absolute best. BUT. No worries! When you do things simple you can do anything. I am English living in Norway so all of the commands are foreign to me. You are my instructor Alicia. I'm learning how to ride from you and I can't thank you enough.
Awesome job Bethany‼️💖✨💖LOVE YOUR PERSPECTIVE ON THE SMALL BASICS ….Life is in the details and w/o learning the foundations its harder to build to bigger movements‼️WOOHOO‼️💖✨💖
Thanks so much for the videos! I've only been riding for 2 and a half years but you're videos have helped me improve so much! Winning that opportunity would be so awesome!
Loved this video! Bethany did such a good job and I love how you can see how much she improves throughout the ride. I would love to enter and win a lesson with Alicia. I've been working on connection with the grand prix hands, and I've improved a lot! I still find it hard sometimes to keep my hands still and really get him nice and connected, but I'm making progress, so I'm really happy with that.
This was amazing! Good job Bethany! I really enjoyed watching this video, all the little tips from Alicia for the different bits that come up while riding along are such gems. The shorter walk and then lift before trotting was really great, I actually just tried that with my mare after watching the video and the transitions were waaay better. Thank you so much for that :) Also talking about doing what‘s achievable and leave the other parts for later is such important wisdom and probably cannot be repeated often enough. I Personally forget about that too often… So thanks to all of you for giving us this woderful video
Once again such a great video! It's so helpful being able to see in real time someone who is also learning and the corrections being made to improve! I can not tell you how helpful it's been for me in my lessons! As someone who has also never owned their own horse this opportunity would be AMAZING! Both the riding and horsemanship 🤩 I can not wait for the next video!!! 😁
Do you mind if I ask you a question for the Dressage explained? How do you stay sitting in the trot without bouncing when you go faster (extended trot)? How do you ask for the horse to extend/go faster while you are sitting? Thank you so much! 💞
Oh so it's possible if we don't own a horse..😘OMG i took so much away from this teaching ..it's amazing .. Alicia's teaching and the way she explains is like an epiphany moment for many .
I really adore this perspective I’ve just bought my own project and it’s really beneficial to see things like this really looking forward to the next video!!

Once again! AMAZING video. Thank you to the team! Watching Bethany really helps. I really need to come to London for lessons. LOL I am now addicted to your videos!
What a good boy G is. Well done Bethany. I have always struggled with I want to control the hind leg rather than control the shoulder. Would you be able to discuss this in further detail. Thank you. Your easy explanations are so helpful.
Hi Alecia. 👋 It Takes A Village to Ride Dressage. Instruction and examples you give so enlightening. I have been practicing the Halt to walk transitions by leading w my hip bone & intermittent legs. My 5 yr old OTTB at times just doesn't move but he is getting better. I also practice Halt to Trot by lifting my bum out of saddle and just a bop of both ankle bones, he also is slow to move off but is better from walk to trot with that aid. How did you get your DMA from the US a invite to intern at your stable?
Great video so much info to take away - thinking of an upward movement and starting to rise, not forward and fast, bending of the head for straightness as my weak side to the left both me and horse fall inwards so reins etc made so much sense. Can't wait to try these. Unfortunately my mum passed 2 months ago so all training etc has come to a hault. With ur experience Alicia with time off 6/7 weeks where do you start ur training at as I am others would be impacted also during winter with shorter days, lack of light and lack of facilities to accommodate training in winter times. Any tips on what u can do during winter for training scales not to be impacted as it is frustrating not being able to get out
Hi Tanya, we are very sorry to hear about your Mum - sending you love. With time off it is best to just stay with your "mind in it" so keep up to date with videos and keep learning then also keep your body fit with pilates. Then when you ride again you will be ready to go. With the horses time off it is best to start again from scratch if they have more than 3 weeks off completely and when you start again start with walking and build up fitness and suppleness slowly.
Alicia - your GIFT to this Earth ... and riders is HOW you explain SO FREAKING CLEARLY - what you are trying to teach! Many riders/ trainers can DO IT.. . they just can't explain it. You do both! 😊👏👏👏👍😊
