Excellent video Todd!! DJI did a great first run at two power stations. Missing a couple key features, but I don’t think it will keep true DJI fans away. App base is nice but can be trouble some at times. Sometimes simple is good. Turn it on and go. 👍🏼
Thanks Johnny. Yeah, I really like these a lot further a grab and go power station. External solar and DC might be tricky for some people but thirst are really good
update: it does have an app (you need a $25 dongle - dji-power-dongle). They recently receive a daisy chain expandable module Power Expansion Battery 2000 in China (extra 2kwh)
I think for the solar input it is important to note that the delta2 has a voltage range that is compatible with much cheaper residential solar panels. While the DJI MPPT can only handle up to 30V, leaving you with only more expensive low voltage panels.
I think it seems like there are a lot of sub-30V solar panels out there, and there are a lot of affordable ones too. For someone like me who needs portability, I feel like these low voltage options are the best bet.
@@RogerF150 Sure. For portable panels the low voltage is fine. I just like the additional flexibility of adding 400Wp+ of $100 but it al depends on your use cases. Maybe the DJI solution is actually better when connecting multiple sub 30V panels? Do they then get an MPPT for each panel?
Thanks for the review from Ukraine! It's a shame DJI doesn't have an app. A good application and remote control are never superfluous. For home equipment, a laptop/computer/Internet equipment looks more attractive than DJI even without an application. I think EcoFlow is more suitable for household needs than for computer equipment and the like.
@@todd.parker the Delta 2 realistically costs $600, not $999. I also think you should add the cost of the solar and other adapters to the DJI price to get a fair comparison. Appreciate the review, though. It looks like the DJI has some real advantages.
@@teuton6167I think that’s fair to include the price of accessories for parity. At the time, pricing was still settling in so I didn’t do that math. Retail prices are super in flux too. When I edited this, the DJI 1000 was still quite a bit less expensive than the Delta 2 on sale on their site but I just saw Ecoflow dropped the price a bunch, maybe to stay competitive. Anyway, I get your criticisms, pricing is tricky
I agree 💯 and no 12v no charge controller built in and no app total apple move giving less and having to buy more to use it, i love the video's but maybe reconsider making this video again comparing them in total costs with all adapters included the delta 2 has 600w of solar built in and you need 2 adapters to do that with the dji 1000 and then 6 panels . Not worth it And also i love dji but this was a bad product design
Yeah, it’s the price you pay for modularity. If your main use case is running a SC fridge, I’d go with Ecoflow but I think the majority of people only use AC and USB on their power stations so it’s not that big a deal
A 12v appliance will be more efficient than a 220v one, as you do not need to use the inverter. Cars and vans have 12v sistems and not including a 12vDC out.... The overlanding/vanlife comunities will not like that Also, did you get for free both energy stations and a drone?
You also have to look at when the delta 2 came out... over a year ago... They (Ecoflow) are getting ready to release the Delta 3 lineup... My Main gripe with the DJI is the accessory list that you have to go through... seams like every drone battery has a special fast charge cable you need to buy if you want that feature... Also, what is the problem with having 120v outlets on the back? I have never wished my TV had its outlet on the front... that being said, I didn't mind when my Delta 2 had them on the back as well... less clutter. I think for a first swing at a PPS they did really good... but in this market you need to cover all the bases to be great. there is a lot of competition in the space... and to leave things out, make you by accessories to do things like solar charge it... and not having an app... those things might hurt them.
Yeah, I really hope the next gen of Delta and Rivers use the same cooling tech and the Ultra and Pro 3 to be much quieter since those are all pretty loud. I'm fine with needing to buy a particular charging cable sine each drone has their own connector but needing to buy dongles for DC output, car charging, and solar charging can add up and be messy. That said, if you just want to charge this from AC, the use it in the field to keep your drones and video gear charged it, those features may be pretty secondary. I kinda like that they are taking a different approach that strips back features only some people need but like you said, maybe they could dial this in more.

No app is a no go, prb doesn’t support bluetooth or wifi
Yeah, no app, no WiFi, no Bluetooth. Doesn’t really bother me but if it matters to you, definitely not a good option
@@todd.parkeryup thats how u get to that price point. You get what you pay for.
DJI 1k probably got better inverter and power performance is lots better for heavy power demand equipments
can you use any solar panel? or do you have to use the DJI solar panels only? they feel expensive for 100w only
Yep, you just need to stay with the voltage limits and you might need an adapter
DJI sounds good.. but 2 big cons. no cig port for powering a fridge is and no solar charging port.. idk why they left these out.
It does have the solar port

you can charge without mppt, up to 100W (same adapter as car charger)
Do the external charge controllers come with the units or do they cost extra? I think I missed that detail 👍
No, I think all the SDC adapters are accessories. Mine only had the power cords in the box
How much is it please?
Can this work as a UPS for a home office?
Yep!
My only question is what are these truly made for? Like just a big charging station? I’m new to this tech
Yeah. These are great for running gear when you’re away from a wall plug

this was a very biased presentation
How so?
