I just had to mention that this video is so well done!! thank you. After 8 months of owning it, my wife and I struggle to even try to learn this game and I've watched quite a few videos over time but the way you walked us through the game really helped !! 10 years later this is still probably the best video to watch about what's considered an excellent game. Running through your thought process of different strategies made me realise how exciting yet simple this game can be.
best "how to" video for this game i've seen because you actually walk us through an actual scenario rather than just throw us definitions or mechanics. Thanks.
My wife and I picked up this game years ago and tried it once but couldn't get past the steep learning curve. Since watching this run through, the game has already hit our table twice and we both ENJOYED it. Thanks Richard!
I appreciate how you demo games. Sometimes you don't get 100% of the rules right, but I usually don't need that at this point. I want to get a feel for the flow of the game, it's style, and it's complexity and you do that very well. I've watched a half dozen Race demos and this was this first time this (not obvious rules) clicked for me. Thanks!
thanks so much for making these Galaxy videos!!! I watched some other tutorials, but seeing an actual "game" being played really cleared up a lot, and solidified a lot of the rules for me. Nicely done. ---Sometimes when people talk fast, it gets confusing, but thankfully it is not so in your case - I understand most of what you are saying, and it speeds up the video - great job!
Thank you for doing this review. Just a note, it's hard to differentiate between what’s in your hand and what’s in your tableau. Also, for a two player game, you can just select one action card each. It's the "advanced" play style that addes the extra action cards and players select 2.
you walk the fine line of excess speed talking and actually teaching the game well, excellent job. best review on the internet for this game....and now im going to buy it.
50,000 views and 0 thumbs down. Quite remarkable. I've had this on my shelf for years and I think I'm finally ready to tackle this crazy iconography. Thanks Rahdo.
I like to think that Jen's actually his ex wife. She left him because he played too many board games but he can't accept this so just pretends she is playing two player games with him.
That's demented. And a little offensive. And a tad bit funny, considering Board Games have made them _more_ connected like Richard has mentioned before.
This is far and away the best video I've seen on this game. I've been on the fence with this game for so long, but this looks like a blast (no pun intended). Thank-you so much for doing a video on this game!
Thank you for this Rahdo. Will be playing this game for the first time tonite and this video, toghether with the extended, really game me a good view of the whole gameplay and rules. Keep up the good work :D
Hi Rahdo, I am confused about some of the rules. The game says to start with 7 actin cards, but my set came with 9, so how do i chose the right seven, there are two 3's and two 4's ( both with different abilities) so how do i know which is the right one????
+trickykid3000 He did mention it in the video. Two of those cards are for the advanced two-player game have the black and white "two player" symbol in the corner (it kind of looks like a basketball court).
Thank tou Rahdo. Comparing RFTG to Seasons with the most complete deck (base game+ench+path) which one of the two has the biggest learning curve? I'm thinking about playing with my 9 years old son who wins almost every seasons game..thank you and still congs for your excellent instructional reviews. Ciao.
Stefano Teodori most people would say RFTG because of the many many icons, though seasons does have the realitively meaty card draft up front, which is a bit of a deep pool as well. so if he can handle that card draft, i don't think RftG should cause any problem :)
good question! the're both excellent games - both an 8. but i rate glory to rome higher because i find the multiple uses for cards to be more clever and engaging in GtR than RftG.
Fuck me! 12+ they said, really??! I am 27 years and it was kinda difficult to understand this and i am still dont get some details. how 12-13 years kid can realize all this stuff...
***** Thats the endless question... RftG, CoreWorlds, Eminent Domain, and even Star Realms: which is the greatest!? The controversy is further muddled by the various expansions. It's interesting to see who likes what. TomV loves RftG and CoreWorlds, DriveThruReviews loves Eminent Domain... What's your fav Rhado? And which expansions would you say are best?
StevieV hmm, in my games ranking list (games.rahdo.com) #35 among the stars #58 eminent domain #64 race for the galaxy coreworlds isn't on the list because i traded it away for reason i mentioned in my runthrough vid (great game, just not for me & jen). among the stars & emdo both benefit GREATLY for their expansions (both are must have). without they might rank below RFTG instead of above. i've never played with any of the RFTG expansions though.
+StevieV Star Realms is ass. I mean, it fits a niche but if you're going to (or did) play RftG then Star Realms is going to seem kind of "short bus". It's good to play with Grandma.
I liked the review of Dice Heist. Much easier game. This game seems like it has WAAAAY too much going on. I'll check digital version (a youtube tutorial)..

I absolutely love how you teach games. It makes teaching others so much easier "Just watch Rahdo." Stop shaking cards at the camera! XD

this is the best gameplay explanation ever
this review made me buy this game. So much better than most reviews :D

I'm really happy that you ran through Race. One of my faves. Expansions 1&2 take the game to amazing heights.

I subscribed because your voice and speaking style is so conducive to learning. If you are a university professor, I'd love to attend your classes.
***** most people say i sound like jeff goldblum! :)
***** lol. that's funny, I thought you sounded more like rahdo. :P
God, do I love the sound of your fingers patting the card. I am a geek and I sleeve everything therefor that sounds just tingles my thingy.
Got to watch this after watching Roll For The Galaxy, and surprisingly, Jen got "Earth's Lost Colony" as her home planet on both games.
Wow! You did an awesome job explaining the game dude! Thanks a lot!
Thank you a lot ! This was a quick way to learn how to play the game and your voice is very enjoyable !
You've got a great way of getting to the heart of a game quickly! Enjoyed it.
"Earth will produce junk which it will then consume" hahahahaja priceless. The designers knew what they were doing!

Love your videos. You speak pretty loudly but very informative. Thank you.

Thx for this one... been looking at this one from a far for a long while... I really think this one would be great for my gaming group
i blindly bought this game and with this video i can say that it was not a mistake

Hey rahdo, could you go into why you like Glory to Rome more than RftG?

i can explain.. 13-24 is peak of your mental life.. 25 and it goes down..
San Juan iiinnnn SPPPAAAAAAAACEEEEE!
are those player pieces you are using from Carcassone??? :)
could be. it's been many years since i filmed this, so i don't remember which box i grabed those meeples out of :)
rahdo At about 10:00 in the video, you say they’re from Troyes. XP
This game looks like a barrel of fun...I wonder though , R.F.T.G or Core Worlds?
never played core worlds, though I probably will do in the next month or two :)

great great video
thanks a lot
Thanks for the video and instructions but I learned that I don't like these type of games.
19:58 "ELYPSON ERANDY" :D
21:05 i would keep terraforming robots.
Puppy!
LoL! GREAT!!!!
Nice job, bruh. Also, nice gender stereotyping (male = military, female = pacifist)
