- Hey D&D peeps!
Sorry this one took so long to make! This Dungeons and Dragons adventure was a bit all over the place and it took a bit of re-reading to get a jist of the story that unfolds.
As linear as it may seem, the campaign does jump into multiple locations and I had to dissect what was kinda relavent to the story.
Hopefully, in the future, I can do these in a bit more timely manner. I really appreciate your patience and thanks so much for watching!

Dude im thrilled there's a channel like this one! Its so difficult to get a real walkthrough through the entire book without reviews and skipping essential stuff, all i ever wanted is to have an idea about the adventures on the book before i bought it! Keep the good work man.- A big fan from Greece
Haha, glad you're enjoying the content!
That's funny cause the main reason I started this channel was that I was having the same issue as you. Figured instead of watching hour long reviews, I may as well read them and summarize it myself 😅
This is the adventure I've been looking forward to the most!
Oh boy, that's some spooky pressure! I hope I was able to do the campaign justice!
14:20... gonna have to figure out a way to force the party out of this situation because they will absolutely stay and try to fight...
Anyway, thanks for this awesome synopsis of the story! It'll help me keep everything straight while I run the mod.
In my humble opinion, I'd say don't! If you foresee them staying and fighting, just plan for that in the future and change up the adventure a little bit to suit it! I'd always recommend ignoring some things in the module if you find your party would rather enjoy other things.
That being said, I believe the book tells you a way to force your party ahead without Harshnag? I could be wrong.
Regardless, I hope you have plenty of fun running Stormking's Thunder!
@@DnDWalkthrough That's a good point- I like my players to have agency over decisions and I hate forcing them to do things... sometimes that means letting a bad decision unfold 😂 And they usually tend to surprise me... I could also create a bit of a "lair action" if things are going poorly for them, since there are statues around and the giants and dragons were at war, when a dragon enters some sort of spell could proc that emanates from the statues that would hold it or something. Maybe Harshnag "notices" this and tells them to activate the statues so it's still their decision on whether or not to do it... gotta provide options, not railroad tracks. We'll see!
i started this campain as a new dm and as naive as i was, i didnt read the entire book before starting. we are now at the point where we defended bryn shander and... Good lord it makes so much more sense now! i think this really helps me to make the story more believeable and logical to myself and my players! Thank you!
I am currently running this one while running ToD at the same time, concurrently as is suggested in the back of this adventure. Having fun with it.
That's a great way to fill out all of the exploration Storm King's Thunder has to offer! It also ties in really nicely at the end with the final battle with Tiamat! Glad to hear that its working out for you!
Hey thank you for putting this in such a cohesive story overview. Well done.
Thank you so much for this, I've been running this as a pretty new DM and it has been more complicated than I expected. But this video really helped out, cheers.
Thanks for watching! Yeah, these adventures can be quite complicated for new DMs but don't worry, it gets easier over time!
Ran this for a great group. Fantastic module. Just make sure to feature the Kraken society earlier and more frequently than in the printed module.
Yeah, I agree! The Kraken Society seemed a bit late in the module imo as well but it certainly added a strange twist to the capture of King Hekaton
I was able to tie it into one of the players backstory in the group and that was enough to have the group know of them without them being at the forefront
Been looking forward to this one. I'm partway through running just now. Party are just about to hit Goldenfields. Appreciate the synopsis. Well done.
Thanks so much for watching! Yall certainly put a decent dent into the campaign!
Man thank you so much! i've been looking for exactly this sort of walkthrough! Great work!
Glad this fits what you were looking for! Thanks for watching!
thanks I plan to run this (with some modifications) for my group after they hit level 5 and following LMoP adventure. Thanks for hitting the highlights. By the way, an interesting fact about this adventure module is that it is loosely based on an old 2nd edition adventure called "Lear the Giant King" which itself was based on King Lear by Shakespeare!!!
What an anti-climatic end to the sage of Iymrith
This is sooo good!
Haha, glad you like it!!
This was awesome, thank you so much! ❤️
Glad you liked it!!
@@DnDWalkthrough just got to chapter 10, and oof this book into next week. Lmao
@@supremehare9893 You're practically at the home stretch! I think the last bit will be to (optionally) find King Hekaton and battle Iymrith! I believe chapter 10 will be quite interesting cause it'll be your group's first time in the maelstrom!
@@DnDWalkthrough yep, just battling the anxiety of trying to run multiple npc's, but I think I've got it down with little flash cards of their ideals, and an outline of when someone might interject a thought. Like imyrith not trusting them during their parlay with Serissa. Should be fun though.
@@supremehare9893 Oh, you'll do great with that amount of note taking! In my opinion, it's okay if some characters stay a bit quiet. As long as you and your group are enjoying the ones that interact the most, there's no need to go too crazy with trying to interject characters.
Regardless, I wish you the best of luck but I'm sure you won't need it with the amount of notes you're taking!
amazing
This is in my opinion what Storm King's Thunder should have been in Neverwinter, rather than what we got, a campaign to recover the Ring of Winter from the Frost Giant Jarl Storvald. They included Harshnag and Princess Serissa and mention of the sundering of the ordning, but no blue dragons, no Kraken Society, and no King Hekaton. Granted, the developers could only do so much and chose to focus on Bryn Shander and Frost Giants, but if it was going to be Storm King's Thunder, they could have at least focused on the need to find King Hekaton and fighting a blue dragon.
Yyyyaaaaaassassssss! Thank you 😁
Anytime!!! Thank you for watching!
Informative video, the music is too loud in the background at times though
The backround music is always way to loud
Goblins.... GOBLINS!!
Love your breakdown, visuals, and writing. However - you’ll want to invest in a pop filter
Haha yeah, for sure. Gonna see if I can pick one up and work on the audio so y'all don't hear my mouth constantly opening.
👍🏻
🙂
I love the content but if you could please pull the mic from your mouth a bit I think it would help with your pops especially whenever you say P or B
Could barely hear what you were saying but the music was blaring.
ARCH WAY.... not Arc way
bro, back away from your mic and tone down your music
