- Here's a rarely heard recording of Black Sabbath performing the song "Changes" in Australia in early 1973. The song was quickly dropped from the set list, which is a real shame in my opinion.
I don't know why so many so-called Sabbath fans hate on this song, it is hands down one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded!
Because they're not true Sabbath or even hard rock/metal fans - they're closed-minded douchebags.
yeah you're right
Im not Sabbath fan,but i love this song.
I loved this song but I started to hate it when I watched the piece of garbage show called big mouth but I started to love it again
@@hinjurock ha ha ha. 😬😏
Were all blessed to have enjoyed Black Sabbath in our Rock and Roll lifetimes.
This song is a slow rock classic..Will live for years to come.
Thank You Man!! Been thinking of this song since my first steady GF in 1974 died a few years back....Never could remember the name of this song.
Ive looked for a live version of changes for so long, thank you for this
For all the pseudo metal heads hating on this piece. It's called a "rock ballad" aka "bad boy ballad" as the 80's writers so dubbed. I hate to break this to you, but some meth addict belching and puking into a microphone whilst his "band" plays 100mph requires 0 talent so.... Fak awf
Mike Mason perfectly said !!
I remember Ozzy playing the keyboard for Sabbra Cabbra for that 74 tour
Just Saw the jacket Tony wears on this picture yesterday haha what an experience :D its on display in the Hard rock café in Berlin
this is badass.
This song is heavy, people can say whatever they like! It's called the blues.
Ozzy sang well back then.
He sings well now. The only time he didn't sing well was 1978-2000
@Not an expert Mountain Climber He was still good in the 80s imo but I was trying to say his prime is pre-1978
Go visit live in studio 2017.
@@randyrhoads9153 ummm. his best ever vocals were from 1981-1982 during the Randy era.
@@greatunz67 Lmao are u dumb? Go listen to ozzy in the 70s. Hes cracked out in the 80s.
I love how quiet the audience gets.
TRES Cool/Heavy Ballsd...Haunting!!

Great song...but. I can see their reasons for not doing this tune live. Sabbath was mostly power rock and expressed that in most of their music....especially live..
Trust me, there's nothing more "powerful" and "heavy" about the emotion of sadness.

1 16 08 is my birth day im a nick rock fan
I was there. I was 15. It was a daytime concert in summer but their were black storm clouds over the stadium which suited the heaviness of Sabbath.
pics or it didn't happen
@@Skeptical.Optimist Are you totally stupid? Why would I say I was there if I wasn't? FYI I didn't have camera but there photos around that show what the weather was like
Woah, powerful story. Looking up at the black clouds with this song playing in the background, I would love to experience something like that. Thank you for sharing.
Was someone playing piano or mellotron on stage, or was it just a backing track? Was it only Ozzy on stage? What was the audience reaction?
@@BotchTheCrab I don't remember seeing any keyboards on or at the side of the stage (it was a very bare open stage setup) or any other musicians - it was almost 50 years ago! There could have been a reel-to-reel tape deck at the mixing desk though??
Its a complete shame they cut this from their live shows i think its the perfect song to put in the middle of all the rest of their stuff just to mellow everyone out for a few minutes.
Anyone else think this is better than the studio version?
Yes
@@SN2903 ozzy & gang were dynamite live up till '76
I love Black Sabbath for their diversity, they have done so many different songs. They are so f*cking talented ❤
at 2:54, Tony goes to the wrong note in the left hand, and he awkwardly stops. Then Ozzy says "thank you" (almost awkward half-smile sound to his voice), then Tony improvises a different ending to save the day.
You lie
I love the improv he does afterwards
@@big6957 You're wrong
@@Blackscorpion1963 were they using a mellotron & a piano along with bass
@@robertcarli5803 You got it.

Geezer on piano and Tony on the Mellotron i guess
Tony does mellotron and piano
other way around: Tony on piano, Geezer on Mellotron
The exact opposite
tony piano geez mello
I think it's actually Rick Wakeman on the mellotron and Tony on piano
