@@ImaSurvivorSanctuary, Yes it sure does Lester, because of the experience I went through when I was in labor and getting ready to deliver my daughter I now have a Great Fear of being put to sleep for anything that has to do with surgery. So I walk around with my two bad knees and live in pain each day and on top of the bad knees I also need surgery to help with the carpal tunnel in both wrists. So Yes Lester, Fear is a very strong and real thing I too Live with every day of my life. God Bless you Lester Morrow, for at least trying and I pray that you nor Jami, ever has to go through what poor Jami, has gone through every again. 🙏🙏... Lester, you just continue being yourself and don't worry about what people think about you because your never going to make everyone Happy.

I grew up with horses and have been working professionally with horses too, both young stallions and fillies. I must say that your Rita is a great horse, she communicates with you the whole time, and sadly you dont understand her. When you have time, read about the horses body language and you are going to understand her better and appreciate her more, cuz she really tries with you. 🙂 Looks like she is i heat now also. Mares can be more complicated when it comes to their cycles, as for all females.. more sensitive and moody. Therefore fillies and mares isn't for all people. 😀 But dont give up, as lots of people saying, she is going to be a fantastic horse. Dont forget that she still is very young. Just a little teenage so to speak.

Lester, horses are herd animals, and as a herd animal, there is a hierarchy. For her age, Rita has learned fast how to move you! Don't let that happen! Take your spanky stick and move it back and forth in front of you to move her out of your way. Once she moves and faces you, stop. Repeat. You have to show dominance to get her to stop, just like an old mare does to the herd. Also, she bites! Don't hand feed her! That only invites trouble!

Lester, I admire you and Jami so much for facing your fears around the horses. I have a huge amount of respect for horses because I know without meaning to they can kill you. My husband and I were visiting with our farrier the other day when he was here trimming our horses hooves and he shared some really awful stuff that happened to other farriers while working on horses feet. We all need to remember to stay alert and keep our heads on a swivel around them. I worry about my husband most around the horses because he’s your dad’s age and doesn’t move quick and way to trusting. You’re doing a great job with your herd. Y’all have a great weekend.❤❤

Lester you are doing good with the horses. Try to walk up to Rita like you do with Buckees and Voodoo because you aren't afraid of them and don't show fear. Walk up to her with confidence and purpose and no hesitation. See if that will make a difference.

Lester I truly am proud of you for putting yourself with all the horses. It can be stressful especially when the ears go back or one quickly turns their backside to you. I have had a few bad experiences with horses as a kid, so I gotta admit, I am a little scared of them- I think they are beautiful, but I am leery around them- I give Jami so much credit for “ getting back up on the horse” as they say after her accident- I don’t know if I could be as brave! Lester, you have so many people in your corner who are horse people so any conditioning and training for Rita is available. She is definitely a spirited thing and caution and awareness is a must. What I do know is when it comes to your rescues, you and Jami will do what is best in long run for animals that can include bringing in experts, seeking help or even rehoming. Good luck with Rita.

Love this Lester. I had a horse growing up he only let me take care of him and ride. At first he was green broken. I didn’t know what I was doing as a teenager. I just showed loved every day. Brush him and talked to him. He eventually did everything I asked of him and was the best horse in farm

Rita LOVES her humans. She always seeks out the humans company. Please remember Rita has food aggression issues, this is not new, so never use feed as bait when you want to work with her. She is friendly enough that you can catch her easily, put a halter on her to indicate YOU are in control of the situation, not Rita, then either tie her up or hold her while you handle her. Its for your safety too! If Rita still tries to swing her rear end around and you have a halter on her, you can prevent her from doing that. You have to realize you cannot expect Rita to be like the other horses even though you want her to be, so you have to adjust the way you handle her and your expectations of her. I'm sure when you were a teacher, you realized you had to adjust the way you approached your students, because of their individual personalities and needs. I am not being critical, I know you aren't used to handling horses, I primarily want you or anyone else to stay safe.

Lester, I strongly believe Rita just wanted attention and to walk with Daddy. She turned around back on but she never tried to kick you, in this video in what I seen. I do believe she is calmer then she was. Yes a horse do know when you have fear but they also know how to calm a human down too. So glad to see you with the horses. I am thinking Rita will be like Voodoo in time. Seems like she is going in that direction to me. As for using a spank stick, we never ever used 1 on a horse or any type of hitting a horse. Too funny. Rita and Storm are such jellybeans. They appear to be BFF's but then they compete for attention. Rita was making a statement by tee-teeing on Storms special time 😄 Buc-cees and Voo are so chill...one waits patiently while his friend is getting groomed knowing his time will come. Rita is still young with much learning time ahead of her. I think bringing them to LHL's where they'll all get more attention was a great decision. The best is yet to come ❤️

farrier the other day when he was here trimming our horses hooves and he shared some really awful stuff that happened to other farriers while working on horses feet. We all need to remember to stay alert and keep our heads on a swivel around them. I worry about my husband most around the horses because he’s your dad’s age and doesn’t move quick and way to trusting. You’re doing a great job with your herd. Y’all have a great weekend.❤❤

Lester you are doing good with the horses. Try to walk up to Rita like you do with Buckees and Voodoo because you aren't afraid of them and don't show fear. Walk up to her with confidence and purpose and no hesitation. See if that will make a difference.

Lester I truly am proud of you for putting yourself with all the horses. It can be stressful especially when the ears go back or one quickly turns their backside to you. You know what damage can be done to a person when a hoof connects with your body. I'm very cautious when I go behind a horse. I do everything you're taught to do but still I'm so thankful when I get around to the other side. Lots of praise when get there. 😅

I have had a few bad experiences with horses as a kid, so I gotta admit, I am a little scared of them- I think they are beautiful, but I am leery around them- I give Jami so much credit for “ getting back up on the horse” as they say after her accident- I don’t know if I could be as brave! Lester, you have so many people in your corner who are horse people so any conditioning and training for Rita is available. She is definitely a spirited thing and caution and awareness is a must. What I do know is when it comes to your rescues, you and Jami will do what is best in long run for animals that can include bringing in experts, seeking help or even rehoming. Good luck with Rita.

Trust and building a consistent rapport with horses is important- keep at it. Yes, she is spunky, but that's how she may have kept herself safe....Keep being who you are.

Love this Lester. I had a horse growing up he only let me take care of him and ride. At first he was green broken. I didn’t know what I was doing as a teenager. I just showed loved every day. Brush him and talked to him. He eventually did everything I asked of him and was the best horse in farm

Rita LOVES her humans. She always seeks out the humans company. Please remember Rita has food aggression issues, this is not new, so never use feed as bait when you want to work with her. She is friendly enough that you can catch her easily, put a halter on her to indicate YOU are in control of the situation, not Rita, then either tie her up or hold her while you handle her. Its for your safety too! If Rita still tries to swing her rear end around and you have a halter on her, you can prevent her from doing that. You have to realize you cannot expect Rita to be like the other horses even though you want her to be, so you have to adjust the way you handle her and your expectations of her. I'm sure when you were a teacher, you realized you had to adjust the way you approached your students, because of their individual personalities and needs. I am not being critical, I know you aren't used to handling horses, I primarily want you or anyone else to stay safe.

Lester, I strongly believe Rita just wanted attention and to walk with Daddy. She turned around back on but she never tried to kick you, in this video in what I seen. I do believe she is calmer then she was. Yes a horse do know when you have fear but they also know how to calm a human down too. So glad to see you with the horses. I am thinking Rita will be like Voodoo in time. Seems like she is going in that direction to me. As for using a spank stick, we never ever used 1 on a horse or any type of hitting a horse. You and Jami has a lot of love for all your animals and they finally have a place with a Daddy , Mommy, love, being fully taken care of. God Bless you all. Thank you for keeping Rita. Too funny. Rita and Storm are such jellybeans. They appear to be BFF's but then they compete for attention. Rita was making a statement by tee-teeing on Storms special time 😄 Buc-cees and Voo are so chill...one waits patiently while his friend is getting groomed knowing his time will come. Rita is still young with much learning time ahead of her. I think bringing them to LHL's where they'll all get more attention was a great decision. The best is yet to come ❤️
