I agree with Mr Bill Legend, Tanx is a lovely record. Knowing it was done in a few days makes it more special. Tanx, quite underrated. I still listen to it.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AT BEING ABLE TO WRITE SUCH CATCHY, ADDICTIVE SONGS, I'D GO AS FAR AS TO CALL HIM A GENIUS WITH HIS CRAFT. MAGICAL AND MESMERC IMO.
Thanks so much! Sound/ vid perfectly in sync now! Thanks for fixing it. This is one of the best docs for concisely capturing the progression of Marc's spirit in the times. Great work!
Hi I always loved Marc Bolan music a great musician an passion for his music he was very passionate about his music he did for every could to make it to the top he got there in the end but very sadly missed I'd love to meet hopefully one day with Tony who managed him with his music seems an sound like a real nice guy Tony good luck god bless you all Martin
@@adonaiyah2196 Yes, you here all kinds of stories and such about Marc Bolan, most are exaggerated or twisted around to make them more interesting, some are darn right made up. PB Fallon is the only guy I've ever heard who I think really understood what Marc was about and what he was saying.
Slade and T.Rex were the two standouts from the Glam Rock era. Top Of The Pops on Thursdays were essential viewing for music mad kids across the land. They still sound great.

To some, it came as no great surprise How this 20th Century Boy he did rise Electric Warrior L.P. was pure bliss Marc Bolan the Warrior we do miss.
It is really weird how Marc would never pay anyone who played with him, but to some degree, Bowie was the same. Mick Ronson never got credits for half what he did, and he & the Spiders got per diem and hardly ever a check to take home.
All that stuff that I did not know about 'Telegram Sam', yet it totally fits the vibe of the rest of the record. I have learned so much from Tony Visconti. Produced some of my favourite records. He is literally my hero.
I managed to see T Rex in 1975 for the promo tour for the Futuristic Dragon Album at the Withernsea Pavilion in Yorkshire, Micky Finn was not in the band at that time and not sure if Bill Legend was still in the band, Steve Currie was with him. It was quite a good concert to be fair. Marc was having trouble with his Gibson Les Paul guitar that night tuning wise and he just threw the guitar on the floor. He ended up using the White Fender Strat for the rest of the gig. Magical times as I was a big fan of T Rex from 1970. I think the guitar survived as it was used on future shows and Albums.
Each one of us is the... result of his life experiences, I started to enjoy T.Rex music only because Mark Bolan died so young in a car crash and it broke my heart. Looking back in time now, it's about a guy that was a great entertainer, he wanted to make audience feel just fine and . ..young generations deserve to learn the trick, of being interested to entertain, of being funny, sexy or crazy, surprising or amusing, but making audience feel just fine, those ages back...are still unforgettable 😢😢😢
The common perception of Zinc Alloy is unfortunately mixed....I think it's an absolutely FANTASTIC album though; glammiest, grooviest....Rolan was so right in his assessment, as that album just creates an incredible vibe.....I think it's much more exciting than Tanx or Dandy.......And imo it stands as his 3rd best album after the two big classics.....
Tony ought to know. If he doesn't know T Rex or David Bowie than who on this Earth does? Gotta Love Tony Visconti, T. Rex, & David Bowie. Without them Rock & Roll would have died by 1970. Thank you Tony Visconti, David Bowie & Marc Bolan.
Thanks so much for this. I thought I had seen and heard everything about Marc because he has been my favorite singer/guitarist/songwriter/poet since I discovered his music in 1969, but there were photos, performances and anecdotes in this that I had never seen or heard. I prefer to hear Marc’s versions of his own music, however, rather than a cover band, although they did a great job. Again, thank you for this. I love watching documentaries about T. Rex, even though I always end up sobbing. 💕😪
Seeing how imaginative Marc & Co were before they became Rock n Roll pop stars I’m wondering if that hadn’t made them Glam Pop legends , a Prog Rock direction may have been just as successful given that it was 1972 or 1973 . I was 9 years old but I hated T Rex mainly because although they were glittery & colourful the first music of theirs I knew was a track on my older sisters’ Arcade Hits Vol 2 LP called Truck on Tyke which I thought was an unbelievable dirge along with Metal Guru…Am I the only one whom loved Soul Of My Suit which I remember reaching No.40 years later & being played just once on bbc radio 1 . I’m definitely going to listen to the Tyrannosaurus Rex albums for the first time tomorrow 😁👍❤️🐢ps we saw the fabulous tribute band T Rectasy (?) at Wimborne Tivoli Bournemouth in 2017 they were Absolutely Fantastic

Too bad his wife when driving Marc home from an evening out ran off the road and hit a telephone pole or a tree.. He was just getting started because age 30 is very young.
@haroldfadorka3816 Thankyou for your comment. Marc was never married to Gloria as he was still married to his first wife. That why when he died neither Gloria or his son got anything from his estate. It was years and years later that his son was given $$$$$ If you don't feel that this is the truth then please present your evidence that he got married to Gloria and I will happily apologise to you.

Electric Warrior, The Slider and Tanx are three perfect albums. How many artists can or did do three perfect albums in a row? Answer- only one!
