- How to draw a human figure and catching a pose is easily done using the Loomis method.
This introductory Loomis tutorial consists of drawing a Loomis mannikin (a fancy stick figure) that catches the rhythm and attitude of a figure/pose and then adding the mass and form to create a figure study. Watch this video and you will discover the secret sauce for drawing figures in any pose.
Beware, drawing people is a deep, dark rabbit hole that occupy many hours of practice that you will thoroughly enjoy.
Add drawing people and portraits to your creative superpowers. Have fun and practice, practice, practice.
I have some FREE PDF downloads about the LOOMIS drawing method on my website. Check them out, you'll love them.

Hello rusty. I downloaded the loomis method and I have been reading it through. Thank you very much for helping me get better. I stopped drawing because life happens and now I've been drawing consistently for over 2 years. I have always struggled drawing people. Anyway, thanks again. I enjoy your videos.
A lot of people have to take a break on their art when life gets started. It is tough to keep it up. It's good to hear you have been working on it again. Just keep practicing. Thanks for watching.

Yes, baby steps. I do make it look easy - even for a rough sketch shown in the video, but it will take practice. Don't get frustrated.
