💀 Hey Skeleton Crew! Let us know which song has the most , which song has the most , and drop the time code of your favorite licks! Oh, and say hi to if you see him ;)
A passive $$?? Wow!! I didn’t know they offered that I had the nirvana black but it had toggle switches also loved that bass m buddy has the same one but the 5 string I’m trying to snatch it up from him lmao
You just saved me around $1K lol! I bought a Warwick Rockbass $$ active back in the fall and I really like it, but that yearning for the GPS has still been there. Unfortunately, in my area, there aren't any places that carry Warwicks to try out. After seeing this video and your other with the GPS, I hear the subtle differences (mostly a slightly fuller, warmer tone with the GPS) and don't think I need to upgrade...any time soon anyway. Thanks for the great videos!
@@boogie3718 Probably should've done that and/or even upgraded the preamp to the GPS one or something else...Ended up finding a great deal on a GPS 5, sold the Rockbass and the rest is history. Honestly, it is a huge difference!
Stellar playing man! Interessting that such a rock bass can pull off those old styles so well. I like your practical demos. Most reviews are bass solo and that's often not very informative as to how well the instrument actually does in context. Good job, thank you!
I've been following you for a few years now....bro, you are the absolute truth!! I still haven't figured out those sweep arpeggios. Come to the St. Louis area and put on a clinic!! I will promote it! :)
Hey Jayme. I gotta give you props for trying to make that bass sound like a 70's jazz. You messed around with it a lot. That bass has such a bottom end and clarity. I'm not convinced. And the price for all the mods to make it sound like you wanted to. It might be easier to just run it thru a 70's tone sim or get the proper bass. I love and appreciate your bass prowess. Makes my head spin when I watch your vids and the ideas you come up with. Keep Rockin it my man.
Awesome video, jayme. 😎🤘🏻🎸 I personally like this Warwick bass. The music man styled pickups gives it an incredible tone. I would totally go for a 5-string version of this bass if I ever wanted a Warwick bass.
I personally liked the rock bass version of the corvette $$. It sounds incredible. I’ve always been intrigued by the 2 music man styled pickups. It provides a thick chunky punchy tone. The only other bass I know that had that configuration is the dean edge 2. I wish dean guitars would still continue to make these basses. Other than that, the corvette $$ is such an incredible sounding bass. 😎
Cool beans 😎. Warwick along with rock bass makes such amazing sounding basses. I personally would go for the corvette $$. I was really impressed with how thick chunky and punchy these basses sound. I’ll bet they sound killer with distortion. 😎🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s true. There are other basses like those that has that kind of configuration. Since you’ve mentioned schecter, I’ve always liked their stiletto basses. I could go for the stiletto stage if I had the cash for it. The stiletto stealth would be my other choice despite that this bass has a precision/music man styled pickup configuration. Other than that, I am intrigued by the 2 mm-styled pickup configuration.
I’m looking to add another bass to my lineup. I’ve got it narrowed down to this bass and a Lakland 55-01 skyline. Both are in the range of what I’m wanting to spend at the moment. If you had to choose….?
hey Jayme! im looking for similar $$ rockbass, but I have a question - do they have push/pull switch in one of the pots that switch pickups to series/parallel? I know in older models of a rockbass that feature was present - is it the case with this exact model? thanks!
Ok, can anyone tell me the name of the vocalist in that "Higher" song? I've heard this voice in other videos on this channel as well, and can not get it out of my head. Shazam does not help :(
I had one these but with the two toggle switches in Nirvana black, had the NT thumb 5 before that and miss that bass! I just said all of this about the bongo just before this video lol 😂🤷♂️🤦♂️
Ya I didn't think I would ever favor the brbr deng sound until a session last week when I used the Warwick for 6 songs haha. I don't recall my compressor settings off the top of my head but I talk about the processing for each song in this video www.patreon.com/posts/64778660
@ Jayme This video is right on time! I own a recording studio and have a ton of basses but no Warwick's yet. I have studied the different models and I am thinking about starting with the RockBass first . And down the road get a German made Warwick Thump bass which of course cost much more. When I try out a vendor I alway start with their mid range models first to see if their basses fit my needs (Cut through the mix). I started looking at Warwick's back in the day because Bootsy and Prince where using them just never picked one.
very cool! ya I used the Warwick version of this bass in a session last week for 6 of the songs; it's definitely a useful sound to have in the studio :) If you haven't seen that bass demo of mine you can see it here if you like! ruclips.net/video/kM5Wn3wI1WQ/видео.html
they just sound dull compared to their older brothers... Like they still sound better than your average budget bass, cause they are hardly budget anymore, rockbass keeps getting more expensive every other year. But really, this thing has no punch. These arent nearly 1k$ basses, which is what they're trying to sell them for... At best... and i mean at the "very of bests"... 600$
Idk man my Warwick Rockbass $$ 5 rips. It even favors well compared to the Masterbuilt/custom shop German Thumb 5 LTD BO I own and has a tighter B string than the German bass. Solo the bridge pickup of the $$ through an Ampeg SVT-CL, and it will absolutely rip your face off. Not as nice as a NT streamer, but it's also about 1/5 the cost.
@@Big_Boi23 What i said applies primarily to corvettes, which dont spike up as much in comparison to their RB couterparts, and they sound like glass, while RB just sounds fat, sure better than other instruments around the cost, butstill, waaay to overpriced for what they are. Like i take RB over any other budget brand, in sound, but their cost has gotten stupid. They're OK basses, nobody works with them professionally, they go for the real deal or other brands. ITs a great line for garage bands. Still overpriced.
Rock basses are absolute garbage for the price i cannot stress how much I regret my purchase the preamp is such garbage the whole bass feels identical to an Ibanez gsr200

I’ve had my Rockbass $$ for almost 10 years now and still absolutely love it. Mine is passive but it still sounds killer. Great video, brother!
thanks matthew!

@Mylancro09I love my rock bass as well,,do you find low output in the MEC Pick ups?
I like your way of demo'ing. Maybe the best bass demo on YT ever.
You my friend are a true artist with your tones.
thank you!
yeah I really enjoyed your playing man!

I would recommend seeing to with a luthier (or just do it yourself) and add split coil switches like on GPS model

Just mixed a tune with one of these and found it brilliant fitting in with all instruments. Fabulous bit of kit.
Great review & a great bass
I really love the flat curve of the Warwick bass neck 🔥🔥🔥
thanks avi!

Make a rewiev on Rockbass Corvette Basic please! 5 string =)

I wonder if the top horn has vibration settings.

thanks alex! ya i've decided that the warwick bass i eventually get will be a 5. unless I need 2 haha

These Warwicks are beautiful and versatile! I'm enjoying so much these kind of videos, Jayme! Keep up the good work!
thank you Timóteo!

I had one these but with the two toggle switches in Nirvana black, had the NT thumb 5 before that and miss that bass! I just said all of this about the bongo just before this video lol 😂🤷♂️🤦♂️
VERY NICE JAYME IT LOOKS GREAT
How is it for tuning down
Ive got a Warwick $$. Its the same scale length and is fine tuning down.
It has 34" scale so... Everythig from E to B is great. Drop A could work too, but it will need some fine setting
excellent!
Really interesting that warwicks all have that brbr deng. What are your comression settings? Same as that old video of yours?

I think would be nice videos with some effects pedals! I'm very curious about how some effects will sound and how to match it with some songs!
sure thing! just find the ones you wanna see at www.zzounds.com/a--3978574 and i'll have zZounds send em over ;)
Are rockbasses warwicks chinese made?
WAR-wick!
