    I use it for helicopter flying at night and the red light feature not being mixed with white light is super important. Also the fact that you can rotate it down to the ideal position makes this perfect. Light weight, rechargeable,... - the perfect aviation headlamp in my opinion.

    My current go-to headlamp is the Sofirn HS10, which I like, but the way it attaches to the headband is really annoying. Between the much more elegant headband solution on this and the addition of the red light, I might consider getting this or the HM51R as an upgrade.

    How far will the light rotate with that clip to mount system? It looked limited at around the 9:50 minute mark in your video. Thanks for the video. I am also curious as to whether the Olight Perun Mini will mount on the headband and the Fenix clip to the Perun mini tube. An interesting system, but overall I like the Olight Perun 2 Mini system better and watched your video on it. I also like the Perun Mini and Perun 2 Mini in neutral white. Although 30 lumens is a very useful level, I love a multi-day 2 lumen moonlight mode as it is enough to read by and do a lot of tasks...although I admit I cranked it up to high to finish mowing the lawn on the last day of 2022..

      No red light on the HS10, and a bunch of goofy strobe, SOS, and Beacon modes. Well, goofy and useless for my usage, others may want those modes, so I shouldn't judge ;-) I think the UI on the HM50R is nice and straightforward, which is what I want from a flashlight.

    For those interested in this HM50R V2.0 you might find the HM51R Ruby V2.0 even better. Warmer light, more red modes, "firefly" mode, constant brightness regulation on some settings and a magnet. If 18350 it would have been almost perfect... Unfortunately I will have to import it...

    Just got the lamp. Is it normal that the turbo mode only works with almost full battery? With Battery around 50 % there is no turbo mode :/

    • @cheule
      @cheule Год назад +2

      Totally normal. Turbo draws so many amps that when the battery is partially charged, turbo will be disabled. This is true of a lot of flashlights, even huge ones like the AceBeam X75.

    I have this light and I was a bit dissappointed.
    The high mode (400 lumen) stays on for 15mins and then drops down to 120 lumen for the rest of 3 hours. So the stated lumen output is correct and 3 hour runtime also, but those will not happen at the same time.
    Even with the most efficient leds you get only 150 lumens/W and it means that the rated values are not possible in theory. 400 lumens would mean 2,6W led power and with 700mAh battery you have about 2,6WAh of energy so in theory 1 hour runtime is possible - not 3 hours.

    • @cheule
      @cheule Год назад

      That is definitely the trade off for a small small batter like the HM50R has (16340).

    • @johndoe-vc1we
      @johndoe-vc1we Год назад

      This is a really important point and when checking out 1lumen's review I noticed that as well. If you want the light to stay at high, you have to select Turbo and then it drops to 200 after 5 minutes and then zigzags slowly between 300 and 400 for an hour before dying. Even the medium drops to 41 lumens after just half an hour.
      I keep coming back to this light from time to time because it's small but the runtime is too short and I'm looking at NiteCore UT32 as a result. Not as nice but has the runtime.

      Yes, this is what I learned recently while searching for my light. The stupid FL1 Standard only requires 10% of the brightness for the run-time. What I do is to switch to a higher mode when the light becomes too dim. BTW, I just tested a Walmart Kodiak Kub and it ran for 3 hours on medium (250) on a Coast 650mAh. One more hour than claimed, never believable for something from Walmart and for 20 bucks. At first it was warm, then cooled down for the most period. I'll get this Fenix as well for the 90 angle.

      KoOnce I bought a headlamp with a power of 320lm and in the technical data it was written that it was supposed to work for 5.5 hours ... the problem is that the power source is a 1200mAh battery🤣. In practice, the power fell in 15 minutes to 70 lm and that's how she got these 5.5 hours 🤣.
