    I met Darrell and hung out with him in 1985. He was a dangerous loon! Ha! I saw Pantera play in clubs in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Darrell made sure you never forgot that name...or him. He nearly burned down my sister`s house with roman candles. Caught the curtains and couch on fire lighting them on the gas stove. In 1989 my sister told me they were about to get a record deal and hit it big.

    Me and Darrell got drunk one night at Lake Tawakoni in 1985 and he killed the battery in the van listening to Def Leppard. We walked about 2 miles and stole a battery from someone`s car to escape. I was terrified.

    This is one of those albums you could just listen too, all the way through every time. It’s a true metal banger!

    The guitars were tuned to 427 hz, which is just a hair below a 1/4 step. Just made standard tuning sound so much heavier haha. Great video! 🤘

    Got this when I was 13 about when it came out and had every single riff, drum fill, bass line, vocal and lyric memorized within a couple weeks. I'm an oddity as I think Trendkill and Steel are my favorites. This one doesn't hold up quite as well but without it metal wouldn't be where it is today.b

    • @brandonjackson5865
      @brandonjackson5865 Месяц назад +2

      Trendkill is the only album that can make the argument that it’s better than Vulgar for me at least. Vulgar is awesome, but the mix on Trendkill and the super super dark tone and the tension between the band mates add to the big heavy dark atmosphere. I love Trendkill but most fans say Vulgar is their peak . I prefer Trendkill today but tomorrow I might say Vulgar is better. Vulgar, Far Beyond Driven and Trendkill , I consider peak Pantera even though Reinventing the Steel has grown on me it sounds like the album should’ve been made between Vulgar and Trendkill I never have loved at much as the other albums including Cowboys From Hell .

    Another thing that was critical to their sound according to Vinnie and Dime was the mixing board/desk console at their father's (Jerry Abbott) recording studio(s). First the one in Texas, Pantego Sound, and then his studio in Nashville, Abtrax.
