It's good that you are bringing these cars back to the market, especially at a time when the car market is so crazy. I am sure there are car buyers out there that will appreciate it.
It looked like there might be something up with an engine mount but it could have been just the other bits of damage. The engine moved a lot when you revved it.
Yes one the mounts probably broke engine has three mounts two down on the frame rail one up by the coolant bottle. The transmission has two both on the frame rail
i wish i could buy one of those again my 99 SE was a great i always wanted a GT, im up in Quebec,Canada most of those N-bodies are gone. apart from some 1997-2003 Malibu's with low km that old ppl bought brand new
Haters are going to hate this one, such is life. These are some of the easiest to rebuild & do bring a good price if they are done right. Not my choice because it is a car & not a truck, but good for making money. I am looking forward to the hidden somebody's been here damage.
Got my Grand Am for 2k it was in pretty good shape I bought it knowing I wanted to put more money into it. Call me stupid but I love these cars it’s different you look at it and it stand out too all the other cars that frankly are starting to look the same. Every truck and SUV all look the same too me only differences are colour. Either black , white , silver or grey how boring my Grand Am is a maroon colour it stands out in a parking lot of cars all the same colours
I will always have a thing for these grand ams. Quirks aside like the multifunction switch and fuel pumps loved mine til it went to big scrap yard in the sky. Aka the local scrap yard.
I have a customer with 200k on the original fuel pump and intake gaskets. A water pump, tires, brakes, battery and oil changes if the only thing that has been done. It was a theft recovery I did 13 years ago.
My daughter had one of these, it currently resides on a relative's farm where; the green grass grows around it. it's in far worse condition than any Scott has ever had engine wise. Broken windows included. I will keep hearing about it one day being fixed but, that day will never come.

I have a 2004 maroon colour they are old they drive good if you like to feel the road then these cars are for you if you like cornering these cars are perfect for that and if you like hydraulic steering and mechanical throttles this is for you. I’ve driven many cars I hate the electric steering it’s so loose it feels like I’m turning nothing hate the electric throttles again no feedback I love how these car huge the road around corners it’s got the lean but it’s a good lean. Plus it dose not feel like you are gliding across the road you feel every bump you feel every turn and acceleration. Some may not like that but it puts you connected with the road
i switched to tilt bed 5 years ago and all i gotta say is.......SCREW RAMPS! lol never could go back and ive never really run into any issues that a non tilt would be better at. heck you can even load and unload without having to hook up trailer. also for me when i'm pulling a land yatch out of the earth with 4 flats that dont roll the dove tail digs into the ground so your not putting all that force on the trans parking pawl but also nothing dragging will catch on the edge of trailer!
awesomw... like the way you work... and: its much easyer to onbolt the generator as is it by similar cars like Lumina/MonteCarlo or Cutlass.. Ihope you will find all needing parts... and i'm excited to see how the repairs continue... it won't be easy, since the frame is badly deformed
I bought a 04 Grand Am that only had 71,000 miles, but had many dents. The price seemed right. It was a 4 cylinder with a 5 speed,4 door.I enjoyed driving it.The dash was great,it was comfortable, not to small, not to big.But then the air bags deployed for no reason. Then it started smoking and consuming a lot of oil.So I dumped it as fast as possible. But I did like the car otherwise.

the thing is, the market is normalizing as the supply chain issues get resolved. Prices are coming down but it will be a while yet.
I really liked the battery tray removal tool - you don´t want to break any good part LOL!
Glad to see your doing another Grand am,one of my favorite cars. I had a 2000,never gave me troubles. Now I have a really nice 03 gt1 with 107k on it.
Got an 2004 SE2 with the V6 181,000 and it still going no issues no mechanical issues I should say
It looked like there might be something up with an engine mount but it could have been just the other bits of damage. The engine moved a lot when you revved it.
Yes one the mounts probably broke engine has three mounts two down on the frame rail one up by the coolant bottle. The transmission has two both on the frame rail
Great job brother and enjoyable just to see the way you go through stuff
Awesome, I can't wait for part 2! Nice car, I have never seen them overhere. Have a nice day Scott and thank you for the video.
Always enjoy the coupes. Looking forward to it's return to the road.
Scott's Grand Am emporium comes to the rescue once again
i wish i could buy one of those again my 99 SE was a great i always wanted a GT, im up in Quebec,Canada most of those N-bodies are gone. apart from some 1997-2003 Malibu's with low km that old ppl bought brand new
Going to be a nice, interesting rebuild. Good stuff. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
I love the grand-am, miss mine, let the haters keep crying tears.
I love seen you work on these cars cause it takes me back to my childhood
I would like to buy a car just like this...these are very good cars and decent on gas
COOL.Another ram air 3400.I dig those pontiacs even though its a corporate engine pontiac.
Which is the rarer option, working windows on a grand am or complete rocker panels on full size GM trucks?
Love watching these builds!
I had an 04 Grand Am V6 3.4L with over 200k miles and it ran great until the accident. The dash is super common and all of my windows worked.
All on my windows worked in all of mine but I rarely used them. Just the sunroof for me!
I used to drive these cars as rentals for work quite often. They are very nice highway cars and handle very well IMHO.
Thank you sir. Happy wknd! NJ
Happy weekend to you as well!
One of my fav cars!
It gets me every time you back off the trailer
Watching you is my Friday afternoon thing. Been watching for awhile now. I use to have a buddy that reminds me of you. He was from Boston y’all accents are pretty close. I like your sarcasm the best
going to be a nice ride for the poncho lover. Certainly the best way to go. Enjoy
These cars were great. I should have bought one when I had the chance.
Thanks for posting.
i switched to tilt bed 5 years ago and all i gotta say is.......SCREW RAMPS! lol never could go back and ive never really run into any issues that a non tilt would be better at. heck you can even load and unload without having to hook up trailer. also for me when i'm pulling a land yatch out of the earth with 4 flats that dont roll the dove tail digs into the ground so your not putting all that force on the trans parking pawl but also nothing dragging will catch on the edge of trailer!
awesomw... like the way you work... and: its much easyer to onbolt the generator as is it by similar cars like Lumina/MonteCarlo or Cutlass..
Ihope you will find all needing parts... and i'm excited to see how the repairs continue... it won't be easy, since the frame is badly deformed
My ex had an 04 Grand Am that she bought new. She drove it for 15 years had very little trouble with it.
good to see ya back on a GM car!....the foreign stuff was getting a little annoying!.....guess it could have been worse like a FORD!
I know l know you can’t stay away their easy fixes, good resale and cheap to buy.but still, one these days I might not rag on them, but.right up your alley and you said daily driver until someone wants to buy it.good video.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Hello Scott, once again I learned a practical tip of how to loosen a rusted bolt. I realize you have been in the university of experience. Looking forward to your next video.
Brilliant video again, the value of the car isn't the object of these video's, looking forward to the next one.
Very nice, I actually like the style of those cars, never owned one tho. Thought about buying one just cause.
Good video Scott. Have a great weekend.
I love grand ams. It would cool if you got a first generation solara to fix their value has gone up in the last few years
If I had an emporium of parts… To drive crash fix repeat… I would do that… But with Mustangs.… Great part 1 of this boring build. 👏
I saved some a small fortune by telling them exactly how to remove a fender from their car, when they knew the cost versus the work involved, they decided to do it themselves, and just pay for a fender, thanks vehcor.
