    The Pantoscopic tilt is still present on modern original wayfarers (2140). What you have is the Wayfarer Ease (4340), which retains the classic design but eliminates the Pantoscopic tilt.

    • @Fra00324
      @Fra00324 3 года назад

      are the 4340 better? I own a pair of 2140 but they are "heavy".

    • @jeremyeagles3237
      @jeremyeagles3237 3 года назад +2

      2140 are better. They block the sun better. Which is why we wear sunglasses in the first place.

    • @Fra00324

      @@jeremyeagles3237 So I tried both rb2140 and rb4340 but they hurt both nose and head after some time. I guess it's a heavy glasses problem at this point.

    I love the Wayfarers and have been wearing them for about 5 years now. They’re great for casual or formal occasions.

      originals or ease model?

  • @tsuyoshinyc2
    @tsuyoshinyc2 11 месяцев назад +2

    These are RB4340, Wayfarer Ease with less tilt. If you don't want the bottom of the glasses touching your cheekbones, these are the ones, but..
    IMO, that angular tilt of the original Wayfarer makes your face so 3 dimensional. So cool! I love mine with that super angular tilt!

    I have been wearing wayfarers for about 30 years now. Although I do own some modern 2140s most of them are the original b&l 5024s. I prefer them as they don’t have the logo plastered all over them and it a more classic look

    Great St Thomas location. Good luck on your continuing Ed classes. I’ve worked in Downtown St Paul for 20+ years. Certainly can vouch for just how nice that college campus is.
    Not a huge ray-ban guy myself. Been an Oakley guy since sometime around 1992-93. In fact. Still have my original Mframes. Still keep them in my glove box as a spare for when my wife forgets take along her frogskins. Currently wear a pair of bottle rockets as my everyday prescription eye glasses and a pair of flak jackets as sunglasses. Nevertheless I can appreciate just how iconic the wayfarers have become.

    Your sharp camera & the sunny summer day resulted in a good display of your Wayfarer sunglasses. Thanks for showing them. Here in Canada, I've been wearing a pair of Giorgio Armani AR8049 tortoiseshell wayfarer sunglasses with brown Rx lenses for the past 2 years. I just got a new Rx, so I'm trying to decide between your model & the Tom Ford FT0237 "Snowdon" wayfarer (I'm a huge 007 fan & Daniel Craig wore them) also in tortoiseshell with green lenses. I'm leaning towards Tom Ford but Ray-Ban is iconic and I've never owned a pair. A few minutes ago, I had my mind pretty much made up. However, your video isn't helping my cause lol

    I owned 3 pairs of wayfarers. Love The model. My "new" pair is from The early 90:s. I wish they still sold them without side logos and Ray Ban written on the glass. I realize many want that and thats fine but I try to have as little visable branding on my clothes + The blues bothers did not have it. ;) only have 2 pair left, one broke many years ago. Those frames looks good on you tough!

    • @soulkens
      @soulkens 5 лет назад +1

      Oskar Larsson you can room all that without damaging the glasses a lot of people agree with you in the logos and they remove them no problem

    Where have you been, Andrew? Love your channel! Thank you for your review of the beautiful and classic Wayfarer. I had a few pairs in college circa 1980’s. I need another pair! I have found that Maui Jim and Persol produce high quality sunglasses, and can’t be beat for service. Love RayBan, however.

    After watching risky business, I had to have a pair myself. Went to a local store and tried them on, yikes, too big for my head! Then tried a pair of clubmasters and have worn them every single day since. Great for driving, even greater is a polarized pair, no more glare! Cheers man, yours look great on you!

    You’re not gonna go all Casey Neistat and paint ‘em white, then rub off most, but not all of it? I mostly wear $26 Sams or Wal-Mart “over the glasses” sunglasses. The main problem with them is that the paint starts peeling off of them after a year. Also, the lenses sometimes pop out.

    I got a pair of the New Wayfarer Color Mix with the Green Classic G-15 lenses recently. My only issue with them is I can't use the FaceID Unlock on my iPhone with them on. I had checked that on all the other Ray-Bans i was interested in, but forgot to on these. It's definitely a bummer, and I may return them since I'm within the window for that. The only issue is they no longer have their Father's Day sale going on, which would impact the other option I almost got from them.

      The RB4340 is the same as the RB2140 with less tilt in the lens. They are more comfortable as they don’t sit on your cheeks. These only come in 50mm. I have the RB2140F which also have less of a tilt. The RB2149F also come in 54mm
